Okay so now TSN is reporting that Pat LaFontaine is going to be resigning from his position with the Islanders. They all had such high hopes and where are they headed now?
Oh, that's right. Straight to GARTH MOTHERFUCKING SNOW. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Good news in Pittsburgh: The Pens resigned Colby Armstrong, giving Sid a competant option on his line, as well as two unnamed players who reportedly will fill some holes.
How ya doing, buddy? |
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHH
Watch him come outta nowhere in the future like Tony. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |

So we got Mark Recchi back. Seriously I don't even know if I want him back here. The guy will be 39 years old this season and with the signings and trades we were doing this offseason, it seems like he's just not going to fit. However it is good to see that he will retire with his original team. I was speaking idiomatically. |
Well since no one else will report the news (except for Ronz) then I will.
http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=172903&hubname= Hasek is going back to Detroit. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
I dunno, Wojo. It'll be nice to have a strong veteran prescence out there with all the young guys.

I'm a bit sad about Recchi leaving even though I did call it the day he was traded here. He was strong in the playoffs, but 2+ million for a 1 year deal at his age? No way we were gonna sign off on that. Hasek going back to the Red Wings AGAIN should be interesting, if he can stay healthy. That team certainly doesn't seem to be getting much younger though. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Oh and Capo I guess but I don't know. Recchi was alright when he was here but god was he terrible on the defense aspect of the game. Didn't he leave Pittsburgh with a +/- of like -30? Jam it back in, in the dark. |

GERBER IS COMING. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
No, it's just that some of us are so fucking depressed by what our teams did in the off season that we can't bring ourselves to talk about it. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. John Mayer just asked me, personally, through an assistant, to sing backup on his new CD. |
I've got some mixed feelings about Hasek coming back to Detroit. He retired, then... unretired. And yet he was still pretty good, but then he got hurt. It seems like anything could happen with him here. I would've preferred to keep Legace, even though the playoffs went poorly, he gets more blame for it than deserved. At least they have Osgood as a backup in case anything happens to Hasek, Osgood's gone through the playoffs before.

Besides, all of the four (maybe five?) people who actually read this thread know more about the trades and singings that are happening then I do. I've been around I just don't feel the need to be "hay guys sens signed neil and shaffer, party tiem" when you'll know by the time the season starts up again anyhow. It doesn't really matter if I post, clearly you guys will keep the thread alive while I'm gone FELIPE NO Baaah~

This is really dissapointing. On one hand i'm glad that we won't have to see Malkin in the east this season, but I was looking forward to seeing what he can do in the NHL. This also raises the question of who the Pens will have at the center position behind Crosby.
I guess this just means that Gonchar is gonna have to step up and just play 50 minutes a game. There's nowhere I can't reach. |

I say we send Wojo to Russia and have him kidnap Evma. The Pens NEED him.

Well now we have ESPN saying that he still wants to play for the Pens this season.

Oh shit son Malkin comin like what. However I won't get my hopes up untill I see something 100% legit. FELIPE NO |
Glad to see there are a couple of Hockey fans in here.
Anyone rooting for Montreal this year? Because if you do i'm sorry but they are going to be miserable. Samsonov and Mike Johnson is not enough to get a team going. Huet will have to be fantastic between the posts. My friend and I have made a bet about Samsonov. He says he'll score more than 30 goals and I laughed at his pathetic carcass and said "You're on". What do you think? What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |

Poor Huet. I do like reading their forums though! JUSTIN WILLIAMS INTENTIONALLY TRIED TO MAKE SAKU KOIVU BLIND...... Ok pal. Seriously though Samsonov is a decent pickup, but he certainly was pretty quiet for the most part in the playoffs. Could he have 30+ next season? Perhaps, but I'm gonna have to agree with you and doubt it. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
