Etrian Odyssey III: Pirates vs. Ninjas
Have some Famitsu scans.
Now instead of exploring trees or underground labyrinths, Etrian Odyssey 3 takes a more seafaring route, introducing new classes, new locales, and probably a handful of new map icons to spruce up your grids. Hailing from Oh, yeah, also FOEs. Comes out 3/4/10 in Japan, and here's hoping next fall in the US. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Ohhhhhhh shit yessssss.
Every one of those jobs sound appealing to me (except maybe Shinobi, but eh). Looking forward to this one. There's nowhere I can't reach. |

Yeah, this definitely brightened up my morning. I was dying for a new Etrian Odyssey game. Now, I just wish 7th Dragon would get localized...that would be nice.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Good Chocobo |
Yeah I used the title of this thread. Nice touch. Infos: The monk handles similarly to any other monk you’ve used in previous RPGs. Unarmed combat and healing with mind power for the win. The Shinobi: Shinobi are really good a feeling out the labyrinth. Plus, you know, those family-treasured ninja skills. The Pirate: ARRRRRR. The Phalanx: With big armor and high defense, this is definitely the team tank. The Princess: The group cheerleader will give the party helpful spiritual boosts. How ya doing, buddy? |
Some of these classes obviously overlap (Phalanx and Protector, Princess and Troubadour), so I'm wondering how they're gonna deal with that.
I was speaking idiomatically. |
Oh wow, didnt see this thread till now. Cant wait to get it!
As for the classes, did they say that the new ones are beside the old ones? Because maybe they are upgrades/replacements. How ya doing, buddy? |
Good Chocobo |
That's kinda what I'm suspecting (replacements), but it's too early to be sure.
FELIPE NO |
Damn. I didn't even star the second one.
These games take a long time. Great stuff though. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I should probably finish The Dark Spire sometime soon. Floor 3 is a bitch. Damn one-way doors. Jam it back in, in the dark. |

Couple more screenshots, art, and descriptions of other classes:

I'm thinking that EO3's classes are just straight-up replacements, since having 20+ classes to choose from, at least for a 30-floor dungeon crawler, seems a bit excessive.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
