YaHoO! Images... the death of the search engine (IMO)

I have always been a huge fan of YaHoO!, no matter what new layout they give me, I feel that it is to give me the best layout with all my desired options easily accessible; and most importantly, I haven't had a problem with my search results. However, after a recent renovation to YaHoO! images, I seem to get about 75% broken links, a ridiculous percentage! For this sole purpose, I have found myself using google more and more. I'm sure most of us here use google more than yahoo, are there features of certain search engines you prefer over others?

How ya doing, buddy?

The topic seems to be a bit misleading. How can broken images lead you to conclude that search engines are dying?

Besides, on image searches, my first tool of choice is Google Images, and then Flickr. If someone's willing to pay, then I go into the commercial sites like iStockPhoto, Getty Images, or even Corbis.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Bad choice of words on my part I guess, I meant the end of my use of YaHoO! because of their images search. I too, now use Google images, I get much better results. It's so annoying to see thumbnails of the pictures you want, and then have the link be broken almost all the time.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I like using Google because I like helping them to build a nice profile of my browsing behavior so I can get better directed advertisements from their google adsense.

If only the merger with that one company (forgot the name), that links consumers' names and physical addresses with their IP address, would have went through then I would have been able to get nice directed advertisements delivered to my house as well. Oh well... I guess I will just have to wait a little longer on that one...

Regarding Yahoo.., I haven't really been hearing anything but bad news regarding them from the business community. After stubbornly rejecting Microsoft's buyout attempt(s) I can't really see the future looking too bright for them.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Google image search is also ridden with broken links, in my experience. I don't know what to tell you.

I don't see what the problem people have is with Google collecting advertising info from you. I mean, they're going to show you adverts anyway so surely it makes sense for those adverts to be for something you might actually want, right? And anyway, it's not like anyone's forcing you to look at them or click on them.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

So what if he is?

Until such time as someone can tell me exactly how companies collecting data on my web browsing in order to make their adverts more relevant negatively affects my life, I shall continue to remain entirely un-bothered about the process.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
