Wow I can't believe Snake is in it. That's really cool.
Anyway about upcoming character possiblities, right now on the Japanese website they're asking fans what characters and music they want in the game! Lucky they get to influence it.

Here's the form. First option is your Nickname, select the 2nd option in the drop down box for Character suggestions.

I'd like to see Sonic or some FF characters in it personally.

It doesn't say you have to explain why you want a character in there. A character's name should be good enough. Wouldn't be a bad idea to include the game their from though. I like the idea that we'll get the chance to tip the scales a bit for a change. They really should have opened up an American site though, if they ever do I'll vote there too.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
