Shaun White Snowboarding
I bought this game while on a snowboarding holiday in Switzerland, during a drunken night with a laptop in a bar, my credit card and Play.com having a great deal on it (£18 brand new!!!), so by the time I got home I could continue my boarding experience as I was loving the real thing.
I actually hated this game at first, the controls were awful, the graphics were glitchy and it didnt feel like I was making any progress at all. So I left it, for 2 weeks, sitting in my games cupboard, gathering dust....
We were playing Bomberman Online last night, and me and my mate both realised we had this game, but didnt really like it, but remembered there was an online mode, so we chucked it in and sat back on Xbox Live! and started to chug away. IT WAS AWESOME! THIS GAME IS A SERIOUSLY GREAT GAME WHEN YOU GET PAST THE LEARNING CURVE! I cannot stress enough how much fun we had last night playing this, and the free roaming, anyone can enter your world style online play is great, it was fun, fast paced, and really was close to the real thing. The graphics are beautiful, the controls feel extremely natural once you get past the confusing layout, and forget your SSX/Amped programmed controls. The jumps are very realistic, as are the tricks, and the runs just seem so close to the real thing. Alot of work went into this game, once you get over the WAAA WAA its not SSX, because its not trying to be, those games arent even close to how snowboarding actually is, this one is surprisingly accurate.
Soundtrack is great too, the music is very boardy and keeps the action up, my only gripe is the glitches, I fell through the mountain on start lines of challenges twice, got stuck on rails and fell through trees. If they can update this on live soon, then your looking at the perfect snowboarding game, and its vying for the top spot over SSX 3 in my heart!
I highly recommend you buy it, if you have friends to play it with
After playing it purely online for a few days, I have collected a super power, and now working on the Yen, while at the same time harvesting the challenging and sometimes mind bending achievements with my mates on XBL. I feel immersed in the beautiful worlds and really am enjoying the whole thing now, its great!
What do you guys think?
Jam it back in, in the dark.
