[Multiplatform] skate.

Was surprised there wasn't a thread for this already (at least not one I could find).

skate. is EA's entry into the Tony Hawk dominated (monopolised?) skateboarding game arena. It's being released on the Xbox 360 and PS3, hitting the 360 in mid-September and the PS3 a few weeks later.

A demo has appeared on the XBL Marketplace recently and I decided to give it a go. Early experiences with Tony Hawk never won me over and I'd not really given them much of a look since. The control scheme EA are employing in skate. sounded interesting and when a mate raved about the demo I decided to give a looksie. Sort of wish I hadn't because it was really good. I wouldn't normally say I'd go for a skater game, but I enjoyed trying to do various tricks and take on the challenges. Even the replay editing thing is pretty cool (though could do with more control).

Anyone else played the demo? Is it something to win over those brought up on Tony Hawk, or perhaps new converts like me.
