I was able to use remote desktop and access my ftp server yesterday morning, and now (as of last night) i'm not able to. i haven't changed anything on my modem (I have qwest dsl) and i have an 8 port switch. port forwarding is still setup. but it's just not working. Anyone that could help i would appreciate it. thanks.

Check to make sure that the remote desktop port is forwarded for the right IP address; I have seen some routers change addressing 'schemes' from 192.168.1.x to 192.168.0.x randomly. (That is, run ipconfig on your machine and then check to see that the IP reported by ipconfig is forwarded in your router.)

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Ok, checked that, i have my IP address on my computers sertup as static addresses, checked my modem and it's forwarding to the right place

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Maybe a firewall issue? Are the ports forwarded through the firewall as well?

they are, i was out shopping tonight, and now it's working, i think it's just stupid Qwest, maybe i just need to get cable or something.

Thanks for the help though, maybe it might be a part firewall issue on Qwest's part or my modem.

I was speaking idiomatically.
