New Samurai Champloo soundtrack released!

Here and here

Just released on March 3rd. I for one am finally glad to see this come out. There were several songs in the series that was not put on CD. Hopefully this completed the entire series' musical score.

Check it out.

How ya doing, buddy?

Nice!!

However, the Amazon cover really looks like a re edition, also, it's labelled as game music, sooooo, yep, it seems like a PS2 game.

I'm excited about the music as well, can't say the same about the game, you know... I hope they don't screw it up.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Ahh. My fault. I completely missed that liner note on the soundtrack. I would prefer a soundtrack surrounding the series and not a game though.

Hopefully the music will follow the style of the anime so we won't have too much to worry about.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I bought "Departure" which was 1 of a 2 disc collection. It had music from the show on it, but come to find out it wasnt the official soundtrack.

This just confuses me further.

There were several soundtracks released wish music from the series. When you say official soundtrack, are you talking about the US Samurai Champloo CD, "Katana"?

I was speaking idiomatically.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Impression is an awesome compilation, but I think the one you wanted WAS departure. That's the one that has "Battlecry" and my personal favorite, "Shiki no Uta" by the angel-voiced Minmi.

I'm kind of skeptic about games made from Anime. The Fullmetal Alchemist games, for example, both left me with a pretty sour aftertaste... :\

I enjoy Shiki no Uta, but I just can't get enough of her other song, "Who's Theme", after reading the English translation. Very heartfelt and emotional, kind of sad that they only used this song for the ending of one episode (episode 12).

I'm not a big fan of Samurai Champloo's music (except shiki no uta <3), most of it starts sounding way too repetitive after a few listenings (out of 100+ tracks, I only found about 20 to be worth to keep, and I rarely listened to them).

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
