I knew history would repeat itself... that's why I left PC/PS2 when I did. For your sakes, I hope the damage done is minimal.

By the way, I doubt locking your room achieves anything other than a false sense of security. It was that way in the past, since the cheater would basically make the client report itself as the owner of the room, which is how they'd be able to access various things and take whatever they wanted. The only way you were able to keep yourself safe was to not have a shop opened. When I put up with crap on those servers, I had a shop, but it was on an alt character that I didn't care about, which left my main character's partner machine safe from being zero bombed.

Which I'm sure its what most people do anyways. Keep the valuables in the Main's room along with the PM you treasure most, and keep the low lvl PM and other crap, and the shop, on an alt.

I'm too invested in my characters to restart.... So guess just have to be real careful. Locking room also means they can't tell whats in my shop since locked shops are filtered out in Condition search. Unless he happens to see my name and ID and decides to check it out anyway... But there's so many players that I doubt it will happen. And I dont have any real valuables on sale anyway.

Honestly I don't fucking care anymore. Game is a waste of money, has a shitty community and the most poorly managed game on the planet. Let em hack. If I could, I would do it too.

People on the official forum seem to think the guy hasn't been banned yet because most of Sega's staff is still on holiday vacation.

Sometimes I do wish I had picked the 360 version, but my best friend who I started the game at the same time as didn't have a 360 when the game launched. Infact he only got a 360 like 2 months ago.

I think I should be fine though, the only thing in my shop is monomates.

If you read the notice on SEGA's mainpage, the hackers have been dealt with. Besides Im sure SEGA will return stolen items like before.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

It sucks that the PC/PS2 servers are always in danger of being hacked. But even if I did go on the 360 servers it wouldn't be a happy happ joy joy thing either. Alot of morons play the 360 servers and probably would attempt to make lewd comments at me through voice chat just cause I'm a girl. Not to mention the Red Ring fear and Xbox LIVE occasionally needing their own seperate maintanence....

I think both servers have their ups and downs, it all depends on which suits who. I applaud to people who have the guts to leave behind their characters on the PC/PS2 to move on to a more hacker free zone, but alas, I cannot do the same...

Also, SEGA actually dealt with the goddamn issue and actually made a NEWS POST regarding this hacker ordeal!

Hell has frozen over, and I think I like it.

I still want the JP developers to fix the holes though... What kind of roulette determines the Bet results before the wheel is spun? I heard that's how it worked, hence why the hacker can cheat in gambling. Not to mention other holes I heard regarding previous hacks...

But at least the GMs are doing what they're paid for. Its not perfect, but a MAJOR improvment than last year.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I kind of share a similar sentiment, though I still play. It's keeping me entertained until Square Enix ships their next-gen MMO. Going back to FFXI is pretty much out of the question since as improved as the game is with each expansion, they never go back to make things easier for newer players.

I can only say that we will never see the last of hacking. To expect a game free of hacks is pretty impossible but atleast a proper response time is needed. Having SEGA respond to a sudden hacker attack is much better than none.

Don't forget that Xbox LIVE went down for 2 weeks, and its said to be the result of hackers.

So really, no one is truly safe. With the right equipment and skills, hacking the 360 servers shouldn't be impossible either, just not as common. Honestly though, the only reason the US PC/PS2 servers suffer so much its cause people use hacking to brag, not just greed. The Japanese know how to hack as well, but they at least keep it to themselves as oppose to screwing around with others. I don't care if someone dupes as long as he's not touching my shit.

Hacking will always exist, its the arrogant people that really causes the problems.

There's only ever been one unconfirmed cheating event on PSU360, and the guy was supposedly banned in less than 24 hours with his 360 locked out of Live completely, making him own a $400 paperweight. It's stuff like that, that is the reason why the 360 version of the game remains virtually untouched. Getting caught cheating on PC version of PSU just means you need to pay another $10 for an account, getting caught cheating on the 360 version means you have to go buy a brand new Xbox 360. Hacking a niche online game becomes a lot less interesting.

And really, that's how security works in general... anyone who's truly persistent will break through, it's only a matter of time. The trick is to add enough layers of time-consuming and/or costly annoyances that make the individual either give up, or move on to something more "rewarding" that's quicker and faster to break into. In terms of this game, that's the PC version.

^They will never "listen" because japan does not wont how the game is managed in western versions to be similar to theirs. Just like they didn't like it when our luck schedules were the same as theirs(and knowing what it would be before them) so they changed that. Western ST is a small group. I bet the ST that forsees the JP version is a BIG ASS GROUP OF PEOPLE WHO CAN FIX SHIT IN A COUPLE OF MINUTES.
I kind of share a similar sentiment, though I still play. It's keeping me entertained until Square Enix ships their next-gen MMO. Going back to FFXI is pretty much out of the question since as improved as the game is with each expansion, they never go back to make things easier for newer players.
They have implemented several changes to the xp system that makes leveling easier for new players. The one thing that is out of their control is new player/character population. There is more 75 players now and most are reluctant to start new jobs. The best time to play FFXI was in the beginning, when dunes had 300+ players leveling at any given time and servers were 5,000+ players strong.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Well, thats the way things are... Since most game companies are so xenophobe. But at least now they are taking measures against it and telling people on their much improved website.

Moving on. Drop lost for the event missions are on these links.

Winter Event Mission Disks Locations

PARUM ROUTE

Note:AT LEAST 3 people are needed for all 10.

Block A

Run into the room with the enemies, kill them all.

Disc #1:

Go to the center of the room, look up and shoot the button.

Disc #2:

Break the boxes on the right hand side to reveal the Disc.

Choose the route facing East on the map, for the Ragan/Ragnus route.

Block B

When you get to the gate where all party members must be present, and you may or may not get an NPC, have one person go right, and the others go left.

Disc #3:

For the people who took the left fork; goggle the tree to the left of the cave, and break it down to reveal the disc.

Disc #4:

For the person who took the right fork; have the other members tell you what creatures spawned on the left, and then kill ONLY the monster they say. When you have completed the task, a disc will appear at the entrance to the tunnel.

Note: if the enemies are buffed (I.E Sword, shield, crown icons), they will need to state that too.

Block C

Disc #5 & #6:

Continue into the relics room, and take out all enemies. There are a few piles of rubble in the room; 2 of which contain discs. Goggle them, and break them to reveal discs number 5 and 6.

Block D

Disc #7:

You may recognise this area from Crimson Beast. Take out the Golmoro that spawn directly in front of you, and then head straight for the 3-person -switch door. Run in, break the boxes to reveal disc number 7, and then take out the Golmoro.

Disc #8:

From the door you just opened, head as far north as you can, and scout the wall until you find a big boulder, with a tree to its left. Goggle the tree, break it down. Head over to the tree in the middle of the newly discovered area, shoot down the coconutty-type-thing, walk up to the tree and the 8th disc should appear.

De Ragan room

Disc #9:

Disc 9 is in the De Ragan. There are two box containers in the room. I believe the disc is located in the North-western most container.

Notes: I do not know whether the container disc is random, and has just appeared in the North-western container every time as a coincidence, or whether it is a definate.

You MUST get the disc BEFORE you kill the boss, else it will be unobtainable.

De Ragnus room

Disc 10:

The final disc is located within the center of the room. On the floor is a large circular patter. Go to the center of that to find your disc.

Note: Same as with the De Ragan; you MUST get the disc before you kill him.

The disc doesnt appear straight away, for reasons that I do not know. Hit him a few times and keep checking back to the spot. It will appear eventually before you kill him.

__________________________________________________ ____________________

Moatoob/Neudaiz Route

Note: If you want to, you can solo this route.

Block A

Run into the room with the enemies, kill them all.

Disc #1:

Go to the center of the room, look up and shoot the button.

Disc #2:

Break the boxes on the right hand side to reveal the Disc.

Choose the North route, towards Adahna Degahna and Dimmagolus.

Block B

Disc #3:

Go to the right and continue along past the first gate, taking out enemies as you go, and fork to the left. Take out all enemies, and grab key #1. Go back and use the key to get through the locked gate, and continue further down, taking note of the key inside the laser fence on your left. Take out all enemies, and locate a single tree standing on its own. Goggle it, break it, and grab the disc.

Disc #4:

Grab the key #2 from the laser fence now unlocked, and head back to the place where there was a locked gate still. Kill all the enemies past the gate, break the boxes and grab the disc.

Block C

Disc #5:

This is a small area and the enemies are powerful, so take them all out first.

Slightly North of the entrance is a pile of rubble. Goggle it, break it, grab disc.

Disc #6:

Return to the entrance and head East on the map. You will see two pillar things stannding there. Goggle the one on the right, break it, grab disc.

Block D

Disc #7:

This is a very large area, with many enemies. You could become disorientated, so take the enemies out first, and then return to the entrance.

From the entrance, head North to find a narrow path, and head up it to find some boxes by a tree. Break the boxes, grab the disc.

Disc # 8:

Continue following the narrow path around, to lead you back out on to the large plain, and head toward the exit. There will be a tree near the door. Goggle it, break it, grab the disc.

Adahna Degahna room:

From the starting point, head immediately South-East to the far corner and locate a box. Break it, and you automatically receive the disc.

Note: As always, you should get the disc before you kill it.

Dimmagolus room:

There's not much I can tell you for this, as the chip doesnt appear right away. Just run to the middle of the arena, and wait for it to appear lol. You dont even need to hit him.. It appears after about 20 seconds.

Not me. I quit weeks ago when 360 got exploited. They could have rolled back the servers and then ban exploiters to maintain its status as the only version of PSU that hadn't been fucked up, but they chose business-as-usual instead. Eight years of online Phantasy Star, and not a single version has been handled properly. To top it off, they've been screwing up one patch after another since exploit day, confirming that my decision to unsubscribe when I did was wise.

Actually Parn, blame MS for that. SEGA unfortunately has no control. Knowing MS they probably haven't approved of all the bannings yet, and MS probably told them to fuck off on another rollback request. As for the screwing up of patchs, me thinks someone is doing that shit on purpose. A REGULAR MAINTAINENCE is'nt going to just *create* an update and slap it on the server. It has to be 'told' to do that. I know if I post that at the official board, I'll have clumsy breathing up my ass.

I still play the game(for as long as I can afford the bill)I don't play in random parties anymore. I play mainly with IRC players.

I've been playing with random parties and enjoying it actually...

As for your crap Parn, sucks to hear you feel that way... to be honest... a lot of games aren't hack free but there's a lot things you can't do with the hacking issue. However I guess you feel that SEGA has done a shittier job of handling the hack situation.

As for update situations... I really think MS is to blame for delay in updates since it needs to go through the bureaucracy first and not just SEGA's "quality testing" process which sorta sucks ass after what happend to that dumb item wipe inventory glitch lol.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Oh yes the 360 got REAL LUCKY in this regard seeing as they didn't get that mess up. SEGA could barely do anything about the grinder glitch.

Yeah... the grinder glitch was a huge break and SEGA probably got a tongue lashing for it. If there was a glitch on the PS2/PC servers, chances are that they would get resolved within the day atleast with SEGA controlling the servers.
