Art School Confidential
This looks like quite possibly the driest movie ever created, and I'm loving what I'm seeing so far. Not only is it critical of the so called counter-culture, but it's self-effacing too. It's a satire movie that is self-aware, but doesn't allow that to take over the story completely, as I felt happened in Adaptation.
John Malkovich looks to be perfect for the part of the art professor, but I haven't been able to get a good feel for the other actors from the trailer. Any thoughts? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
It does look promising. We'll see if Zwigoff can pull off something as good as Ghost World without being exactly like it. I'm not sure if he can do it frankly, but it does have potential.
How ya doing, buddy? |
There's something about the first trailer with John Malkovich's voiceover "Can any of you do anything that hasn't been done A MILLION TIMES BEFORE?" coinciding with him slamming down that canvas that cracks me up without fail.
Looks really funny, never seen Ghost World, but buzz wise (to be taken with a grain of salt obviously), they say the mishmash of genres is ineffective. I don't think this is a spoiler, but Spoiler:
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
