Hard Drive Question

I currently have two hard drives running in my computer, but I am running out of space. I keep having to uninstall my games, if I want to install a new game. The other files that are taking up my hard drive are mainly media files (music, videos, pictures).

So I was wondering if I decided to pick up a third hard drive, and if my computer has another slot, is it possible to run three hard drives in a computer (besides doing different partitons)? Without any overheating problems or problems in general? Thanks.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

You can have three harddrives but you have to make sure you have enough in the power supply and enough ventiliation. But, if you have enough juice, then you shouldn't have a problem. I suggest you ask a technician before you go ahead and try something without knowing what you need to do.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

If you already have four IDE devices (say, the two hard drives and two optical drives), you'll need to buy a PCI IDE controller card in order to add additional drives. (Removing one of those devices will also allow another to be added without the PCI card, of course.)

Just get an external USB drive. No hassle involved.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I've gotten 6 HDs working in 1 computer at the same time. If you go with large scale hard drives, you might want to look at a HD Cooler. Also, more fans for your computer might help, especially on intake. This will depend on your setup though.

And as mentioned, you may (or may not) need an ATA Controller card. Or you can see if your motherboard has SATA plugs and get an SATA Hard Drive.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
