Bittorrent problems

Hey everyone I've been pulling my hair out over trying to get torrents to work. I use Ares and it doubles as a P2P and a Torrent downloader. For some odd odd reason, I can download stuff P2P but not through torrents. I've tried this with other programs as well such as Bittorrent. The only way that seems to work is through Bitlet.org but the speeds are just incredibly slow. Any help or some insight would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Moved to OS and Software.

I would suggest you log in to your router and clearing a port for Ares. PortForward has step by step guides to do this by router and scads of different software titles. Instructions for setting up the ports on Ares are right here. However, it's recommended that you start here and work your way through your particular router model.

Hope this helps!

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Use uTorrent and turn on encryption.

If you're on some torrent-hating ISP that throttles BT, then you're out of luck though.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
