new Linksys WRT54G is lossing webpage access after short usage

I just brought this modem from a local store and it keeps blocking me from accessing any webpages after about 10 minute of usage, but bit torrent is still going fine. I have version 5.5 of this router , my old one was version 2.x and it worked better than this new one, but it died. Can I upgrade the firmware?

thanks

I dropped Wifi-box firmware (version 2.02.2.2.wfb) onto my WRT54G and it hums like a charm, no problems at all.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I suggest using DD-WRT firmware and then reading up here. Solved my problem. Involves running torrents = HTTP slowing to a crawl.
