I certainly do, and that becomes a pretty big problem for FFXI in the end. If you can't find anyone worth PT'ing with, especially to take care of your objectives (a huge amount of people in the game are permanently stuck in the lower missions), then there's really nothing worth doing in the game.

That's why I'm in love with PSU's emphasis on quick playing. It doesn't take hours to form PTs, dungeons have checkpoints, missions barely equal 30 minutes, etc. I also love how there's no real penalty for dying (de-leveling....an evil game design) aside from exiting the dungeon and going back in.

That said, I'm not sure how interested I'll stay in this game. I'm glad I didn't sign up for 6 months. It's fun, no doubt, but it also doesn't feel like an endless adventure like FFXI does.

Quote:
2 - Press Ctrl until character names appear above heads. Look for the names with coloured party symbols next to them, they're your partymates.
I discovered this myself, but what I'm referring to is if the PT member is either too far away to spot the symbol or if he's on a different floor. The map will tell you what area he's in, but it doesn't actually point to his location.

Quote:
6 - No idea... I want to know also. You can feed him any item, but I haven't been willing to offer up my goods yet.
I gave him a couple of my medicines, to which he said "didn't taste very sweet" and got a small boost in synthesis or something. When it reaches a certain level, you can use it for dungeons, right?

Quote:
1 - Hold Tab while you press enter on the text entry. Also, if you hold Shift, you'll shout. Hold Ctrl and you'll do a thought bubble. Shift and Ctrl can be combined with Tab as well.
Thanks, that was driving me crazy, and no one in the game was willing to answer. Can you control the facial expressions?

How ya doing, buddy?

Yeah the personal machine does give you some backup in dungeons later. If i'm not mistaken the stats that go up are (from top to bottom) Attack, Range, and Technic. Could be wrong though.

Anybody find out if the PC version supports widescreen resolutions?

I personally just want to buy the 360 version, but I can't play with the majority of people who have the game if I do! But I can't stand games boxed if I can get it widescreen!

Yeah, but I'd rather play on deserted servers in widescreen than have a box full of people.

Sup guys. Here's my info for the game

Character Name: Michael Blackthorne
Race: Human
Battle Type: Hunter
Game Version: PS2 Version

I was amazed that my entire character name fit. I won't be on much till next week though, I'm trying to finish up on Halloween event stuff in City of Heroes before it ends.

Once more people get the game up and running, we should organize a time/place to all get together and exchange cards. It'd make things a whole lot easier, since knowing someone's name really has no benefit other than shouting out "HEY!" if you happen to see them run by.

Well, that would be good, but like Miles was saying, if we designated a certain server/universe to commonly occupy at least for a little bit early on, we'd probably be running into each other often. As for which one, *shrug*, I dunno, 1 seemed to be the only one with a lot of people but that was early this morning.

As of current, I can't connect, are they still doing maintenance?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Got my copy today (Gamestop is on the ball I guess) and I'm just waiting on getting a new video card. Once I have that, I'll be good to go.

Dual wield sabers are the ones that are not crossed. The icon with the two weapons crossed are daggers.

Anyway, woke up a bit early this morning, was able to get on right away no problem. Gotta go to work now, so I probably won't be able to get online again until tommorrow morning.

EDIT: Well they're not crossing my fault, but they are the one with the 2 sabers. Here's a pic. It's the one I have highlighted.

Tiiiiny res

Well, a friend of mine was frequenting Universe 18 last night, but I didn't get to meet up with him. Currently, 1 is the most populated, and the rest feel rather barren. I'm sure that'll change once more people can actually log in and play.

I have to run on 640 x 480 res thanks to my video card. It can run on higher resolution, but not without massive slowdown, and instead of just automatically adjusting the frame skip so movement stays pretty constant, it just drops the framerate without any regard for frame skipping, leading to overall slowdown of the gameplay. :< I may pick a better one up today, though, so that may improve things a bit.

FYI your starting class is determined by your race, you don't pick.

On a related note, does anybody know offhand how much meseta it would cost to switch classes at the very start? Kyndig probably wants a Hunter Cast, not a Ranger. IIRC you start off with 0 meseta right? (I'm at work, so I can't check any of this).

I also LOVE the body options with the casts, you can make some cool stuff. I think the body/clothes shops sell things you can't start with as well, looking forward to what I can do. Also looking forward to playing as a cast, since I always played human before.

You, indeed, can buy more clothes/parts that you cannot use when you first create your character.

Race: Human
Gender: Male
Class: Hunter

Desired Class: Fortefighter

I think I'm gonna hang out on Universe 3 for a bit since it's fairly high up the list so should be populated decently at all times but not full.

I've mainly been chilling in 1 since it's the most populated, and I've been doing a fair bit of pickup groups. I'll likely settle down somewhere else though once the majority of my friends get the game running and once populations settle.

Taegueki, the fee is $9.99 for 30 days, or $49.99 for 180.

As a random note... I really wish the PC version was a port of the 360 version, and not the PS2 ver... I would kill to have widescreen and higher res support. That, and a fullscreen that doesn't crash when you alt-tab. Grumble. But all in all, extremely entertaining so far

Tried to take on De Ragan with 5 people, all around level 8-9. Wiped horribly. Massive deathticle, that dragon is. I'm glad though, if it was easy I would have been disappointed

I've been playing on Universe 2 a bit. Formed up a few decent parties with people. Some of them had a hard time not dying though and screwed up our S-rank. We seriously need to set up a meeting date on a random Universe to exchange cards. It makes forming parties with freinds MUCH easier.

Well, I'm downloading it right now. As compensation for not buying it, I'll be buying the HL for 6 months. I've come from PSO and PSOv2 from DC, so jumping in this should be no problem. Anyone face a Dark Falz-like character yet?

I'll get this game eventually (stupid stores being sold out >:|), hopefully I'll be able to get in before everyone is all high leveled and stuff.

If I wanted to be a Force I would have to pick the Newman race, correct? I just like hanging around in the backlines and attacking from far away
