Anti-Flag - The Press Corpse

Spoiler:
"The Press Corpse"

The {Downing Street} memo says...

...We gotta work to make the facts fit the false charges
Pull the wool over the eyes of the filthy masses
Stab the people in the back for the corporate choice
Roll the propaganda out using The People's Voice

We don't want to talk about it...

The press scribble scribble every half-truth spoke
Then shoot it round the country like an April Fools joke
Hype the nation for a Desert Storm love affair
Wave the stars and stripes like you just don't care!

They talk it up all day, they talk it up all night
They talk until their face turns blue - Red white and blue!
But when the truth escapes the night and crawls into the day
We find the picture still askew

They don't want to... talk talk talk talk talk about it
They wanna tiptoe, walk around it
Wave the flag and mindlessly salute
They don't want to talk about it
They wanna tiptoe, walk around it
Wave the flag and cowardly salute

And on the TV screen...
...Diversion and aversion is the flavor of the day
Was it WMDs? Or Democracy?
Blame it on MI-6 or the CIA
The White House Press Corpse only has one thing to say...

"We don't want to talk about it!"

The White House boils over, "Al Jazeera got it wrong!"
The Press Corpse jumps onboard singing the White House song
While over in Iraq thousands are dead because of lies
The spineless war drumming-press corpse have taken lives

They talk it up all day, they talk it up all night
They talk until their face turns blue - Red white and blue!
But when the truth escapes the night and crawls into the day
We find the picture still askew

They don't want to... talk talk talk talk talk about it
They wanna tiptoe, walk around it
Wave the flag and mindlessly salute
They don't want to talk about it
They wanna tiptoe, walk around it
Wave the flag and cowardly salute

Fires fueled on endless lies
Black shrouds coat desert skies
A nation's viewpoint blurred and led
As embeds report what they're fed

We don't want to talk about it...
We don't want to talk about it...
We don't want to talk about it...
We don't want to talk about it...

(We don't want to talk about it...)
We don't, don't want to, we don't wanna talk about it
(We don't want to...)
We don't, don't want to, we don't wanna talk

They don't want to... talk talk talk talk talk about it
They wanna tiptoe, walk around it
Wave the flag and cowardly salute
They don't want to talk about it
They wanna tiptoe, walk around it
Wave the flag and cowardly salute

Anti-Flag - Free Nation?

Spoiler:
"Free Nation?"

State official talks of freedom
THEY-TALK!
In this country that we live in
THEY-TALK!
Free to be harassed and be beaten by the pigs
YOUR RIGHTS? NO RIGHTS!
Till you're fucking broken, crippled, or until you're fucking DEAD!

YEAH!

They pass laws unfair to gays
THEIR-WORK
And separatist laws to keep the non-whites in their place
THEIR-WORK
Family values as a smoke screen blowing in your face
THEIR TRUTH? NO TRUTH!
Family values isn't something that shouldn't be based on hate

Based on hate...

Justice presides over them, late into the night,
A blind fold covering their eyes, but something isn't right...
Under their arms, there are shackles on her legs
And the hands that once held up her scales are bound,
Are bound in chains!
Bound in chains...

And behind their closed door, they conspire through the night
MORE WORK? SICK WORK!
And they won't stop until this nation is all straigh and all white!

NO!!

They call it a free nation... but all it is, is A NAZI NATION!!!

Hell, we should put all of Anti-Flag's work on here and call it a day.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

While everyone around me is busy drowning, I float.

No Hockey Night in Canada
There was no CBC

In 1812 Madison was mad
He was the President, you know
He thought he'd tell the British
Where they ought to go

He thought he'd invade Canada
He thought that he was tough
Instead we went to Washington
And burned down all his stuff

And the White House burned, burned, burned
And we're the ones that did it!
It burned burned burned
While the President ran and cried

It burned burned burned
Things were very historical
and the Americans ran and cried like a bunch of little babies, wah wah wah
in the war of 1812!

Now some hillbillies from Kentucky
dressed in green and red
left home to fight in Canada
but they returned home dead

Its only war the Yankees lost
except for Vietnam
and also the Alamo
and the Bay of... Ham

The loser was America
The winner was ourselves
So sing along and gloat about
The war of 1812

Chorus:
And the White House burned, burned, burned
But the Americans won't admit it
It burned burned burned
It burned and burned and burned

It burned burned burned
I bet that made them mad
and the Americans ran and cried like a bunch of little babies, wah wah wah
in the war of 1812!

From Top of the Pops to drawing the dole

If no one seems to understand
Start your own revolution and cut out the middleman

In a perfect world we'd all sing in tune
But this is reality so give me some room

So join the struggle while you may
The revolution is just a tee shirt away
Waiting for the great leap forwards

Communist Billy Bragg laments about the lack of progress shown by Russia, Cuba and China. He trys in invigorate the great leap forwards.
While I like the song choice, I don't agree with your interpretation. Bragg is criticizing those countries, because they never actually achieved communism, his ideal form of government. All they did was kill a bunch of folks while establishing thinly veiled dictatorships. He goes on to criticize coffe-shop communists, the college kids with Guevara paraphernalia because they keep seeing his face in head shops.

I'm also going to throw in another track:

I think I should add in Live - What Are We Fighting For? just for good measure. The lyrics are a little bit juvenile, but the song itself is good.

Other suggestions that are a bit more specific in their focus:

Lamb of God - One Gun (corruption)
Spoiler:

The sins of deliverance
The eyes of the patriot fixed through the scope
The unknowing tyrant walks to the rope
Its when murder is justice that martyrs are made
A one-gun salute for the new independence day
They'll hallow your name
They'll hallow your name for your sacrifice
The sins of deliverance

"So let the wicked perish in the presence of God"

The sins of the father atoned by the son
Confessions of commitment broken
A nail driven for every one
Its when murder is justice that martyrs are made
A one-gun salute for the new independence day
They'll hallow your name
They'll hallow your name for your sacrifice
You are the cause, I am the effect
Created in hatred, a noose for your neck
The eyes of the patriot fixed through the scope
The unknowing tyrant walks to the rope
They'll hallow your name
For your Sacrifice.

Pulse Ultra - Despot (subjugation, personal freedoms)
Spoiler:
Waking in this state
The world seems strange to me
How can something so beautiful
Shine on something so dreadful
Realized this too late
You sell them short for what they are
One day they'll show you who they are
Leave it to us to tape our mouths
The silence will add more to release
'Cause talking has become a taboo
If only they knew the power that they had

I wake up and find myself unstable
I'm hoping that this world is just a fable
How can something so beautiful
Shine on something so dreadful

The hunger necessitates the slaves
To fasten and redirect their waves
One day the silence will be torn
Despoil these social straps we've worn

I wake up and find myself unstable
I'm hoping that this world is just a fable
How can something so beautiful
Shine on something so dreadful

If only they knew the
power that they had
You sell them short
You sell them short

I wake up and find myself unstable
I'm hoping that this world is just a fable
How can something so beautiful
Shine on something so dreadful
Realized it's too late to fight it
Realized it's too late

Unearth - The Great Dividers (for politics)
Spoiler:
It's true there were better ones
That led their people
It's true there were better ones
To lead their country
It's true there were better ones
Who cared for this world
It's true there were better ones
But who are we to change
Without the strength of all
The nations will crumble

Feed lies for war
bring the nations to it's knees
Risking worldy structure and integrity

The balance of our kind
Controlled by hatred, distorted truth and lies
United is the only way to stand
United is the only way to stand

Leaders of the free world
Lead into the land of the un-free

God sent politics
Hammered down with a fist too bold
Play the council of pawn
in the quest for total control

Free us of this Hate
Free us from this Hate

Take over the world
Does hate mean Freedom?
Divide our home
Does hate mean freedom?
Take over the world
Does hate mean freedom?

Does hate mean freedom?
Take over the world, divide our world.

Black Sabbath - War Pigs
Spoiler:
Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
Evil minds that plot destruction
Sorcerers of death's construction
In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds
Oh lord yeah!

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to poor

Time will tell on their power minds
Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess
Wait 'til their judgement day comes
Yeah!

Now in darkness world stops turning
Ashes where the bodies burning
No more war pigs have the power
Hand of God has struck the hour
Day of judgement, God is calling
On their knees the war pig's crawling
Begging mercy for their sins
Satan laughing spreads his wings

Guns N' Roses -Civil War
Black Eyed Peas -Where Is the Love?
Billy Joel -Leningrad

And something not so war focused...
Kamahl -The Elephant Song
Spoiler:

Tell me said the elephant
Tell me brothers if you can
Why all the world is full of creatures
Yet we grow in fear of man
Tell me said the elephant
tell me why this has to be
we have to run from man and hunter
never safe and never free

refrain:
-people kill without regret
although they fly by jumbo-jet
let the word all may remember
let the children not forget.

Gentle is the elephant
Pulling loads and everything
we love to hear the children laughing
when we,re in the circus-ring
Happy was the elephant
Happy was his jungle life
and then they came, the cruel hunters
with their rifle and their knives

refrain:...

Listen, please listen, said the elephant
if we want the world we know, to stay alife
Then man and beast, we must work together
And together we will survive

Listen said the elephant
It is conservation time
So take the warning when we trumpet
For the future of mankind

Genre: rock (anti-government/establishment)
Rage Against the machine - Guerrilla Radio
Rage Against the Machine - Killing in the Name
I think one of RAGE is good enough, don't really need 2. Personally I like Guerrilla Radio better. I'm sure you have rage or someone does

Genre: Punk
Leftover Crack - Gang Control (anti-police, pro-demonstration)
Spoiler:
I'm being hunted by paleface in blue
These cracker spooks are haunting you too
With municipal shovels they're digging our graves
Under threat of reprisal we invite to enslave

Policia, policia; why can't you see
Your bullets will never pacify me
I dont fight the world; the world fights me
Cause the gang in control is the fucking PD

(That's right)

Fuck the police they're gang control
We've gotta take it back
Everyone get up and let's go

Your politrix are politi-kill
I'll take the bullet to prove that you kill
You front the facade of the "righteous man"
But the hole in your heart puts a gun in your hand

Protecting the money and out serving the state
Crushing the people with the laws they create
Nothing forgotten and nobody saved
You can not break me, force me to behave

(That's right)

Fuck the police they're gang control
We've gotta tear it down
Everyone get up and let's go
around the globe it's outta hand
from the states out to iran
across the ocean and back again
England, Zaire and Japan

Fuck the police they're gang control
We've gotta tear it down
Everyone get up and let's go

individuals who hate man
with king's license to clean the land
fill the already one way laws
around the world to suit there cause

Peter Gabriel - "We Do What We're Told (milgram's 37)"

A somewhat vague song, referring to the 18th Milgram experiment on Authority vs. Conscience, in which 37 out of 40 subjects complied with the scientist ordering them. See here and here.

The Decemberists - "16 Military Wives"

Spoiler:
Sixteen military wives
Thirty-two softly focused, brightly-colored eyes
Staring at the natural tan
Of thirty-two gently clenching, wrinkled little hands

Seventeen company men
Out of which only twelve will make it back again
Sergeant sends a letter to five military wives
His tears drip down from ten little eyes

Cheer them on to their rivals
Cause America can
And America can't say no
And America does
If America says it's so
It's so
And the anchorperson on t.v.
Goes la-di-da-di-da

Fifteen celebrity minds
Leading their fifteen sordid, wretched, checkered lives
Will they find their solution in time?
Using fifteen pristine moderate liberal minds

Eighteen academy chairs
Out of which only seven really even care
Doling out a garland to five celebrity minds
They're humbly taken by surprise

Cheer them on to their rivals
Cause America can
And America can't say no
And America does
If America says it's so
It's so
And the anchorperson on t.v.
Goes la-di-da-di-da-didi-didi-da
La-di-da-di-da-didi-didi-da

Fourteen cannibal kings
Wondering blithely what the dinner bell will bring
Fifteen celebrity minds
Served in a leafy bed of sixteen military wives

Cheer them on to their rivals
Cause America can
And America can't say no
And America does
If America says it's so
It's so
And the anchorperson on t.v.
Goes la-di-da-di-da-didi-didi-da
La-di-da-di-da-didi-didi-da

The Who - "Won't Get Fooled Again"
Spoiler:
We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgement of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again

The change, it had to come
We knew it all along
We were liberated from the fold, that's all
And the world looks just the same
And history ain't changed
'Cause the banners, they are flown in the next war

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
No, no!

I'll move myself and my family aside
If we happen to be left half alive
I'll get all my papers and smile at the sky
Though I know that the hypnotized never lie
Do ya?

There's nothing in the streets
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Are now parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
No, no!

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss

I was surprised this one wasn't nominated last year, it's a classic.

Alright, so I put this thing together. The following is the final track listing. It comes in at 70 minutes 54 seconds. Don't bitch if your song didn't make it. Choices were made based on time, catchiness factor of the song, and whether or not I thought the song was a piece of shit. It's a pretty good mix of "classics" and newer stuff, and I substituted some rarer, live versions of cuts that were suggested. It goes like this:

01. N.W.A. - Fuck Tha Police
02. The Mothers Of Invention - Trouble Every Day
03. The Last Poets - White Man's Got a God Complex
04. Sun Ra - Nuclear War
05. U2 - Sunday Bloody Sunday (Live)
06. Moxy Früvous - Gulf War Song
07. The Cranberries - Zombie
08. Oingo Boingo - Insanity
09. Immortal Technique - Freedom Of Speech
10. Black Sabbath - War Pigs (live, alternate lyrics)
11. Love - The Red Telephone
12. Barry McGuire - Eve of Destruction
13. Billy Bragg - Waiting For The Great Leap Forwards (live, alternate lyrics)

You can get all the tracks here.

I was speaking idiomatically.

This looks to be one of the best albums on the entire soundtrack, in my opinion. Great job getting all this together so damn quickly, man. Thanks a bunch.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
