So people say about the Revolution, but Nintendo insists that there's more to it than the remote.

Anyway, this could just mean an announcement date (Yeah, right) or something similar.

Face it people Sony lie.

If they do release it in Novemeber, it seems they are rushing it even more than Microsoft were especially seeing as they haven't even finalised the Blu-Ray technology that will run under the hood. All I can say is that it better not have a stupid online service, which I'm worried it will.

I think this will be the PS2 launch all over again where you buy the console and it doesn't turn on, then have to wait weeks for a replacement.
What is this? Megalith 2.0?

Hell, I'm glad that Sony says that P$3 (lololol, look what I did there. The $-sign insinuates that Sony likes money. How clever I am!) reaches Europe this year, but if it doesn't, I won't get mad. No one in their right minds would actually dare thinking such a thing. (Thinking and hoping - two different things)

I want to see the European price, as it's the only thing I can really calculate with. The cheapass american price only serves as a reminder of how expensive everything is in Europe (Or Denmark...)

There's nowhere I can't reach.

::Head explodes::

::The world cheers::

Anyway, if Sony actually makes some use of a HDD this time around (Without the price gets too high, Europe-wise) I'd be happy. That could reduce the cost of memorycards, though that should be completely eliminated, seeing that PS3 doesn't have any way of reading old cards. (Which is a pretty stupid choice, unless they make som sort of magic thing that allows you to transfer saves via the PSP. We already have a USB-cable, so Sony should just include a DVD and an UMD in the PS3 package, which allows you to transfer said sdaves. Brilliant!)

How ya doing, buddy?

God, R&C looks excellent. I wonder if they're going to employ some sort of fur effect on dear ol' Ratchet. (Think Monsters Inc). And with Insomniac at the helm, I'm pretty sure we'll get a great gameplay.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I really hate living in a completely different timezone when E3 rolls out. I have to sleep and attend the university before I can drool over juicy bits of info;_;

Anyways, those Sony ads looks cool. Let's hope what they showcase tonight is equally impressive...

The conference was boring, but I really can't see the huge fuss over the prices. Then again, I'm used to them. And I bet you the moon, that PS3 costs way more than 600 buck in europe. Try 7 or 800 bucks. Are there people to buy them? Hell yeah. Including me, because I'm a sucker for new stuff.

Anyway, don't mind me. Just continue bitching about the *snigger* high price.

How ya doing, buddy?

According to Son's Phil Harrison, there's no difference between the to models. Interesting:

Quote:
Following announcements that Sony plans to launch two versions of the PS3, Phil Harrison has denied reports that the 20GB model will feature lower technical specs than the 60GB version.

"What we should be clear about is that the functionality is identical in both machines. There is no difference in what the machine does," he told BBC News.

Confusion arose after Sony Japan issued a spec sheet which appeared to indicate that the 20GB PS3 would not feature Wi-Fi, HDMI output or inputs for data storage cards. But according to Harrison, both versions will support high definition output: "It's just that the technical method of extracting audio and video from the devices is slightly different."

Advertisement
He went on to defend Sony's decision to launch two versions of the console by highlighting the importance of consumer choice. "Some people might be interested in the PS3 primarily and exclusively as a games system, whereas other users might look at it as a multimedia hub in the home, which is games and music and movies and other digital content." Harrison said that he personally would purchase the 60GB model.

The PS3 will launch worldwide this November - a year after the arrival of the Xbox 360. At Microsoft's pre-E3 press conference Bill Gates said the company expects to have sold 10 million consoles by then, giving it a healthy head start over Sony. But Harrison is not convinced, stating: "I doubt they will achieve that."

He is also doubtful that Microsoft will be able secure a position as market leader once Sony's new console arrives: "I think the clear advantages of the PS3 will mean that this product is very well accepted in the marketplace. We have a great brand and fantastically loyal consumers."

The PS3 will launch in Japan on November 11 and the US and Europe on November 17, priced at EURO 499 for the 20GB version and EURO 599 for the 60GB model.

Hmm, slightly disturbing. I hope they don't carry those plans out. I play consoles to get away from the hassle modern computers is, not to worry about specs...

Actually, Jag, according to Kaz Hirai, the 500 bucks model DOESN'T have HDMI. I does however possess the ability to output in HD. (Probably via component...) And memory card slots is, again according to Kaz, a no-no on 500, due to the fact that many people has readers for the PC. (These readers can then be used for PS3)
I never really had any doubt what model to buy, but if he's right, I can see I'm right picking the $600 one.. (Though it's probably $800 in Denmark...)

I think it's down to the games, not the machine. Most games pause when the 360 button is hit, others don't under certain criteria. Hitman: Blood Money, for exampel, doesn't if your looking at the map while pressing 360.

I wonder if the cases looks like that in Europe too. Remember that our PSX boxes had Playstation written horisontal while the American was vertical?
It would be interesting, but not very important, though...

So, a PS1/PS2 Memory Card adapter, eh? Well, I guess that's one answered question. No options at all would've sucked, but now we got a choice at least.

They are right about the heat. The room I sat in turned into a furnace, but it really is quite. And I love the startup sound. Easily the best sound ever.

The controller doesn't feel flimsy, but is quite comfortable to fling around the room.

I was wondering why he would go through that.. I mean, why combine the Riidge Racer thing (which is a PSP-related comment) with the PS3 pricepoint.
I really wish I could see why you'd do such a thing.

I love those comercials. The third place just appealed to me, and these new ones are just as weird. Props to Sony for continuing those.

That said, I like all sorts of weird ads, and the Xbox one where a baby is shot out of the womb, grows old and slams into a grave was brilliant too.
