Surge protector not grounded?
Because I moved the computer from the den into a bedroom, but the surge protector says that the outlet I plugged it in isn't grounded. All the non-bedroom outlets are grounded, but the ones in the bedrooms aren't. Will this affect the surge protector's performance, or will I not even be protected at all? What can I do about it, short of moving it back to the rooms that have grounded outlets. I don't understand why these outlets with the three prongs wouldn't already be grounded.

You could always buy a line conditioner to make sure the power output is always constant if you're unsure. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
There are some two prong outlets that do have grounding (you can tell by the different sized plugs), but given what a surge protector is suppose to do, plugging it into a 3 prong outlet will have an affect on how well it would work.
And also it would affect how well it will stay in the wall too. 3-to-2 prong converters suck for staying plugged in properly. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
