television / cable help
the tv is hooked up to a dvd player, and both get cable straight from the wall (no cable box).
this morning the electricity went out, and when it came back I was only able to get one channel, CBC. The rest is snow. However, I get channel CBC on a lot of different numbers (20, 25, 26, etc). For the record, the normal channel number for CBC only shows static. I tried disconnecting the dvd player and having the cable go right into the tv. It made no difference. NOW, there is an important thing to point out. my cable is split between two televisions. the one I just described having a problem, and a tv in my sister's room. That latter tv gets all channels like normal. I haven't the slightest clue where to begin troubleshooting this. Any ideas? How ya doing, buddy? |
If you're TV is cable-ready, it ought to have a channel discovery feature as a part of its setup menu (it ranges through all tunable channels to identify ones carrying a meaningful signal). That's the first thing I'd try.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
TV fixed itself. Called a priest; he'll come around after services on Sunday.
In the mean time, I'm checking every cross in the house every few hours to make sure they don't invert themselves. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
