Whoops sorry for those typos, its corrected on my end.
I'll edit my posts in a minute or two. edit: Also removed CHz's nomination for "To the West" as it was in the GFF soundtrack last year. If you need a reference list as to what VGM titles were entered last year. Just read below: Originally posted by el jacko:

Whoops, I forgot there were other PSO soundtracks out there.
But since you say you don't have it I'll send it to you sometime. How ya doing, buddy? |
Question: I kind of forgot Dune Spice Opera - Wake Up was nominated last year. :P One of my nominations, "Map of Arrakis" is actually the original track "Wake Up" is based on. So does that make "Map of Arrakis" ineligible?
Jam it back in, in the dark.
I think therefore I am... I think.

There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Anyway, I nominate: Left Hand of Darkness :: Hiroki Kikuta :: 9 of 17 :: Sakura Relaxation Soundtrack Rain Waltz :: Yoko Kanno :: 13 of 23 :: Napple Tale vol 1 Illustrated Guide to the Fairies High-Tension Wire :: Hiroki Kikuta :: 8 of 20 :: Seiken Densetsu 3 Original Sound Version :: Disc 3 of 3 If you need uploads, just ask. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
And about your nominations. Yes, upload them as soon as possible! Same goes for anyone else that made nominations and didn't upload or provide a link to them. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I was speaking idiomatically. |
As long as its not the exact same track as "Wake Up" and its used in-game then it is eligible. edit: Heh, I should've read your last post more carefully. I got Map of Arrakis confused and thought that was the arranged track. Sorry! Anyway, as I said. The track is in the nomination pool. As long as Elorin gets it to me! What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

I've uploaded two more tracks
6-o'Clock Bell of the Morning Watch from Salem no Majo Tachi and Farewell - The Way Home for Two People from Puppet Princess. FELIPE NO |
Okay, I've uploaded my three nominations. The audio quality of the U6 tracks is probably better than what was more commonly available in the day. Roland is apparently quite formidable when it comes to soundcards (although I tend to prefer the SB AWE32).
How ya doing, buddy?
I think therefore I am... I think.

Thank you for the nominations Elorin, neo, and Teioh.
I will update the nomination list tomorrow .
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I've uploaded my 4th (and last) nomination to your FTP, Kairyu. It's a track from Freedom Fighters. Also updated my list in my original post.

updates
I'm not too sure if I should let The Great Gianna Sisters track slide as it wasn't used in a game. If it was, let me know and I'll reconsider it . And yes if you have the game versions to the ITG tracks, upload them as soon as possible! You made a direct extraction rip on the Gamecube version of Soul Calibur II? If its not too much to ask, could you upload a copy of that to my ftp? >.> Ok! The nomination pool has been updated again. Also, I've added direct links to all the nominations. Should make sampling a little easier for everyone. Anyway, keep the nominations coming! Nominations as of April 9th:

I since added Eternal Struggle (in-game version) to my list, but for that one I don't care so much whether it's the OST or in-game version. [Hubris's OST version lacks the Asian-sounding instrument found in-game.. but I still believe Eternal Struggle sounds better in-game than on the OST as well, due to the extra bass in-game]. I really think you should let Machinae Supremacy's Great Gianna Sisters slide.. because it really doesn't fit anywhere else (at least not in this index thread) and it's a nice arrangement
As for Soul Calibur II, it simply stores its audio in the ADX format. Thanks to hcs, Winamp now has a plugin which can loop ADX files, so no one has to deal with my not-so-l337 cut-and-paste skills to get a full 2-loop song with fadeout I'll do a -V 0 --vbr-new diskwrite from Winamp once I get time, and then tag the files I know. Also, I'll upload the 3 ITG edits to YSI soon, and post a link. I was speaking idiomatically.

I'll correct your nomination list in a minute, thanks for catching that typo. Double Post: Here's the nomination pool so far, I see alot of great choices. Thanks everyone! Got to start selection kinda sorta soon. I don't want to leave the nominations sitting around for too long so.. I think I will be cutting off any new nominations somewhere near the last week of this month! The 24th sounds like a good day =o. I will then PM all nominators with further instructions about the tracklist selection. Anyway there's still plenty of time, so we'll see. Nominations as of April 15th:

Just wanted to point out that some of Skexis' noms are invalid, since they're console exclusives / PC titles:
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - Lost Painting (PS1 exclusive) Diablo - Dungeon (PC exclusive, PS1 version came much later) KOTOR - Bastila Shan (counted as Xbox exclusive according to the Xbox forum thread) KOTOR - Dantooine Outback (same) And I'm not sure about these: Oblivion - Dusk at the Market (I think it's already being used in either the Xbox or PC thread) Quake III - Noise Purge (would go in PC thread? other modified versions came out later) Silent Hill 3 - Dance With Night Wind (PS2 exclusive, PC version came out later) Most amazing jew boots
Check out my original music at my Soundcloud page!
Latest music rips (updated January 10, 2012): SimCity DS - Jazz/ambient/electronic music including interesting reworkings of songs from the fantastic SimCity 3000 soundtrack Cold Winter Original Game Music Score - Really cool; dark, full, emotional strings mixed with drums, piano, choir. Kind of like Furious Angels? Play-Asia - Japanese CDs, game soundtracks, game imports, & more |
Thanks Kairyu. How ya doing, buddy? |
