Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

I'm sure at least some of you have heard of this, but for those who haven't... Joss Whedon's project from during the writer's strike went live yesterday with Act I. Act II comes tomorrow, then Act III on Saturday. Sunday night it will all disappear... At least until it shows up on DVD at some point in the future with all the regular-type extras. It's available on the website, streamed, or for $1.99 an act on the iTunes Store.

He must take his efforts to the next level in order to get into the Evil League of Evil while also mustering the courage to talk to Penny (Felicia Day), the girl at the laundromat. And it's a musical.
So far, it really reminds me of Once More, With Feeling, the musical episode from Buffy. It's great so far.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I've been really looking forward to this, but thanks to the demand crashing their website, I haven't been able to watch it yet. It looks quite promising, from the trailer.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I was able to stream it well enough, but I grabbed it on iTunes anyway, seeing as the streamed versions are going to vanish after this weekend. This way I'll get to keep them for whatever.

I figured that even by the week's end the strain on their website won't really go away either, so it might be better to grab it from iTunes if you can spare the $6.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I tried at various times last night and couldn't get the site to work, and it won't load for me at work now. I don't have iTunes installed, and something about paying for content that's available for free bugs me. If the site doesn't clear up, I'll probably just torrent it. Yes, I realize that's bad, since I should be encouraging this sort of endeavor with my money, but I only want to watch it once. If I'm really enamoured, maybe then I'd pay for it. How long is each episode, anyway?

I realize this isn't going to be a popular statement but the only thing that twists my testicles harder than fanservice is Joss Whedon's form of fanservice.

Yes, its cute that you write in a gimicky fashion - but your talent ran aground after the fourth or fifth season of Buffy. Everything since has been a copy of a copy; this is just you trying to capture the lightning in the bottle that was the Buffy musical episode.

Stop it. You're a burnout, Joss. No number of fans can save you.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Have you actually watched this, LeHah, or are you just ranting blindly about Joss Whedon?

The first episode was 13-something minutes. I assume they'll all be about that length.

I never saw the musical episode of Buffy because I hated Buffy, so this is new (As far as Whedon goes) to me. I actually really enjoyed all three parts, but I think a lot of it was just because I love NPH and Nathan Fillion.

That was just pure awesome. High-fiving the crew now.

I'm not a complete fanboy of Whedon, I must say, but I do enjoy most of his work. It's a refreshing change of pace from all the seriousness that everyone else is puking out in America nowadays.

I'm glad he's still doing something.

How ya doing, buddy?

Thanks for the link. Pretty good for a side project during some down-time. I enjoyed the cameo from that guy from Big Band Theory lol... The redhead is one of the potentials from the last season of Buffy. And you basically can't go wrong with Nathan Fillion in the frame. The show is worth the admission price (free).

I just watched this on the recommendation of a friend, and checked to see if anyone had mentioned it here. I had no idea that this was coming out. I had a really good time watching it. It was fun, genuine, and honestly, I almost cried. I'm not ashamed to admit it

Never seen much of Whedon's stuff, but this was quite fun. I like musicals and I like not-too-far-out science fiction, so this was a fun video to watch. I don't mind comic books either, which this was kind of like.

Everytime I see NPH I think of Undercover Brother... and for Nathan Fillion I think of Slither.
