Unzip your pantaloons, here comes Miles Edgeworth: Perfect Prosecutor

I was just browsing everyone's favorite clown school blog GoNintendo when.. VERY LARGE JPEG's from the latest Famitsu.

Spoiler:

According to Court-Records..

Quote:
* A law adventure game where you act as the prosecutor.
* Main characters are Miles Edgeworth, Dick Gumshoe
* You control Edgeworth, searching for overlooked evidence and inconsistencies at the crime scene.
* New search and deduction systems are introduced.
No more first person perspective? Capcom could reuse these side scrolling sprites of Edgeworth and Gumshoe for the next Mega Man game. THIS GETS ME EXCITED.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Saw this at /v/, it looks like proper pointan clickan, complete with halious lucasarts quality walking animation sprite and mouth movement (I HOPE)!

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Looks cool. I am guessing the story is before the Phoenix Wright one given that

Spoiler:

"Perfect" is in the game's name and Edgeworth decided it was OK not to be perfect by the second game.

If they're going all the way to a point-and-click investigation interface, they really need some gratuitous Lucasarts references in there. C'mon, Edgeworth trying to interview the insurance salesman from Monkey Island would be a barrel of laughs.

How ya doing, buddy?

So it looks like they did want to go with the original concept of GS for NGNS then, pointan clickan adventure.

I wonder what kind of antics Turnabout Prosecutor will bring about. Edgey + Gumshoe = Win.

I was speaking idiomatically.

It's about freakin' time someone took the pointiness of the DS's interface and made a pointan-click adventure.

Miles Edgeworth is more of an anti-hero if you ask me, but so were some of the best pointan-click characters: Guybrush Threepwood, Bernard Bernoulli, Larry Laffer, etc. It's unlikely, yet somehow a perfect fit for the genre.

I smell potential.

Weren't Touch Detective, Professor Layton, and probably a few others point and click adventures?

Also, fuck Edgeworth. This should be Gumshoe's game.

Looks like a spinoff. Wooo~

Now this is the chance to be able to kick Phoenix's ass as a douchebag!
Definitely hope to see this show up at the states soon (yet no date for Japan release...hmm)

Though, I was expecting Gyakuten Saiban 5

Yeah, this entry won't be the first of its kind, but the other didn't have EDGEWORTH in them, so.

Layton v Edgeworth go.

Phoenix would make for an interesting 'last boss'. Turn the tables on the player and be all kinds of frustrated as Nick pulls another insane-yet-plausible alibi scenario out of his ass.

My sister said she would never get one of these games unless she could play as Edgeworth, and even though
Spoiler:
you could play as him in PW3
she said that wasn't enough. After hearing about this game though she now wants it so bad.

Interesting, it looks like part of the game is drawing the correct conclusions from the clues you find. I dig - I'd prefer the investigation segments actually be part of the game, rather than speed bumps to the fun courtroom segments.

I totally predicted that the game was about Edgeworth, but I didn't expect an honest-to-God point-and-click adventure game. The only thing that's sort of weird... How come the walking around bits are on the top screen? Wouldn't it make more sense to use the stylus as a... well, point-and-click device?

Anyway, this is awesome. Edgie running sprite = best thing of 2008

HOLD IT!

Spoiler:
Is That Krisopher Gavin I see? Maybe he is the defendant you are facing against in court cases...then again...he is really pale in this pic

There should be another spinoff- Winston Payne: Pro Prosecutor

No one wants a game in which you can never win. I think The Judge: Ace Judge would make an awesome game.

Regardless, your ass will be handed to you continously be Phoenix Wright's tactics. It will always be a loss for Edgeworth here

Anyway...Recall, there really needs to be another Defendance Attourney to face off aside from Phoenix.

True, but you can win at some arcade games...it just takes a shitload of quarters.

All I said was to keep characters from a certain game out of this. I didn't say use Phoenix, because yes that would almost always be an automatic loss. I'm saying use a new lawyer altogether, one that's formidable but can be beaten.

They could always, y'know, invent some original characters. I think they'd have to, really. There's a pretty short list of people they could put you up against (and they might want to save some for sequels), 'Cause let me tell you, I got enough of Grossberg's hemmorhoids in the third game, thank you very much.

It's a tradition to give you a lightweight opponent for the introductory case anyway, so surely they'd want to invent someone to be the Worst Defense Attorney in the World.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

True, but you can win at some arcade games...it just takes a shitload of quarters.
But you see, the arcade still wins. It always wins. Even when it closes down. You wish for that arcade to still be open. It still wins. You can't defeat the arcade. You can't.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
