Well, since the conference thread kinda died off anyway, might as well post here.

First up, new Mass Effect screenshots

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j4...icti/mass2.jpg
-------------------------------------------

Second, new Gears of War trailer

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j4...victi/gow2.jpg
-------------------------------------------
Some Viva Pinata screens

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j4...icti/viva1.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j4...icti/viva2.jpg
-------------------------------------------
A Forza 2 trailer

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j4...cti/forza1.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j4...cti/forza2.jpg
-------------------------------------------
And finally, Allen Wake trailer

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j4...icti/alan1.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j4...icti/alan2.jpg

OK, that's enough for me, even a screenshot whore like myself has limits.

Shin ninja edit: In light of the new rules regarding stupidly large images, I've URL'd the pictures here.

Nice to see the shiny plastic look has somewhat disappeared from Mass Effect... And nice star wars-eque alien. Very exciting screenies!

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I know you posted this before the new picture rules so I've editted your post so the pics are now URLs. In future though, please stick to thumbnails and links for images that big.

Posted in the update thread:
Quote:
Microsoft recently announced that it will be releasing downloadable games in the middle of the week as part of its Xbox Live Arcade Wednesdays program. The company revealed the first five games on the promo's schedule but didn't venture beyond that, ending with Pac-Man on August 9.

Now it appears that a fortnight after gamers are gobbling up ghosts and feeding on power pellets they'll be gambling on inside straights and reading players' tells. On Xbox.com, the product page for Texas Hold 'Em shows a release date of August 23, a date that has been confirmed for GameSpot by a Microsoft rep.

Gamers won't be able to play for money, but that shouldn't bother too many because the game itself is free, making it the second free game for the Xbox 360 after Hexic HD (available gratis on the optional 20GB hard drive). Card sharks will be able to play standard games, tournaments, and various scenarios, as well as create their own poker variants for up to eight players.
That made me think. Would Xbox Live actually gain or lose something, if you could win "money" in games? As I see it, games could get a whole new competition element, with betting and so.

Anyways, now I get the oportunity to try out this "poker" thing...

Wagering money is a bad idea. There really is nothing else that needs to be said about that, but I just can't see it working out for the best.

However, if they held tournaments and the winner got something like 1000 MSP or whatnot that wouldn't be too bad.

Anyway, poker kind of loses all it's fun when you can't read the other persons's facial expressions. The entire point is how well you can bluff.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Since this is a 360 discussion, how about recommending some titles worth a purchase. I'm pretty close to getting my hands on COD2 for $30 at most brand new from a buddy of mine and well what else is there worth playing? One can only play Uno for so long.

Hitman has great replay value if you're a perfectionist and liked previous chapters in the series. Dead Rising is a no-brainer, the replay value is through the roof. As for awesome games with not that many replay value, QUAKE 4 and CONDEMNED are some of the best FPS I've played in a long time.

And yet since when has Condemned been a FPS. Sure its first person, but not everything first person is a shooter.

Oblivion, Hitman... Aaand, I really can't recommend anything else. Saints Row is nothing but a GTA look alike. If that kinda game floats your boat, go for it, but it really isn't that spectacular.
I'm working my way through Chromehounds, so it's a bit early for me to either agree or disagree with Skills.

Hi there.

You're fairly new so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt this time. Generally though, we try to encourage discussion in threads at Gamingforce. Whilst those might be your favourite games, you didn't tell us why you like them or why we should get them. Lists are no use to anyone without a bit of justification.

In future, please try to add a bit of content to your posts or you might end up saddened and disheartened when they all get deleted.

All the best,

Your pal, Shin.

Saints row was started a year before GTA: SA started getting created. I just finished chromehounds last night on soldier. Now i'll have to finish the rest.

The point of CH is not in the single player.

And Saints Row's development cycle timeline really has nothing to do with how shitty it turned out to be. It's really piss poor. When the most fun a game gives you is in the character construction part in the first 5 minutes of the game, you know something's wrong.

I'm not really into GTA type games, I think they're overrated but that's just me. I'll give Blood Money, CH & Oblivion a look, although I've been meaning to ask if Oblivion is online playable? :eyebrow:

Also I should bring up this interesting bit of news. First it was the DS Lite and now it's the Xbox vision camera. Yep, Toys R Us broke release date once again so those interested should find this article useful.
I've come across a few gamers on Uno with their cameras all setup and the quality isn't that bad. With Texas Hold Em out soon, can anyone say strip poker. :lolsign:

Random UNO players getting flashed with my hairy nutsack comin'.

It's a shame though that your picture that you take for your gamerpic can only be your "friend" picture, as opposed to your gamerpic.

Almost EVERY site mentions that that would be a bad idea because of mass genitalia though. So I guess I'm turning into that stereotypical Xblive faggot afterall.

It saddens me how many of my friends fall into the stereotype of European gamers only playing football games and racing games.

At least they could try something different once in a while.

Yeah, if you own a 360 and don't have Live, something is wrong with you. A Silver account is free and lets you download both premium and free content, but Gold is extremely inexpensive and makes almost all of your games that much better through multiplay.
