Mic feedback in speakers

I have a sound blaster audigy se card, with the speakers connected into the audio output jack and the headset mic connected into the mic jack. However, when I do that I hear feedback through the speakers. I can play music, and hear the system sound schemes normally. I can even record with the mic, but I just hear myself through the speakers when talking into the mic. I'm not really sure what "setting" to change either in the program or my system.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

In your playback controls volume control, mute the Mic. Only leave it on in the Recording set of volume controls.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
killmoms - Well, don't really.
