Well, if they play their cards right. Then it will be on my possible movies to see list.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Bleh, Tom Cruise's son and Spike as stars? That seems like a terrible idea. Here is the IMDB Dragonball Z (2008)
James Wong is directing it, he did Jet Li's 'The One' so who knows, it might be good, it might be god awful, it might have a POWER LEVEL OF 9,000?!?!?!?

the movie is supposedly not going to be out till 2010 so for now its on my "I don't care" listings.
Release Date:
15 August 2008
But I doubt it will be anywhere near done by then.

Predictions: The movie will be sub-par at best but it will make hundreds of millions due to it well, being Dragon Ball Z, which is probably one of most well known Japanese animated shows in America.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I think they're about 5 years too late to really cash in on DBZ's popularity.

Prediction: The Naruto movie will also be about 5 years too late.

Yes, and it's not just talk like it was for the past 5 years. It's actually in pre-production.

What KrelEN said about everyone getting help for this some-time-in-the-future event.

Honestly, I hardly see how they can do a decent/not-humiliating/actually-watchable movie of DBZ, I mean... it's just a massive disaster on the works.

Btw, I consider myself a positive person, and I did enjoy DBZ like 1245676884 years ago.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

When I was little and watched DBZ, I often thought of what the live-action would be like. But a Chatwin playing Goku; I'm just not feeling it...

I really loved the anime and manga for DBZ when I was a kid, but this is going to be embarrassing. I really do feel sorry for James Marsters. The guy is talented, but always gets the worst roles on earth.

I've been hearing rumours for ages about this, every time I think of the concept as a film that final fight from the 3rd Matrix film or Kungfu Hustle always pops into my head, because let's be honest the standards of entertainment are only going to be about that level at best for anyone who is not a hardcore fanboy/fangirl. When it comes down to it without pretty much rewriting the whole storyline to something more practical for a single film, this film is just grade A cash cow material nothing more nothing less.

Well... at least he gets to be the coolest character out of the whole series.

I still love DBZ, but even I expect this to be a terrible movie. Kinda like video game movies but worse.

Maybe it will be something like this

Hrm, it seems as though Stephen Chow is producing the movie. I loved Shaolin Soccer and Kung-fu Hustle...so perhaps this might not be -that- bad after all is said and done...hopes and dreams.

I do like Piccolo , but Vegeta is still my favorite! I just can't imagine Marsters in a costume with all the makeup looking like Piccolo and actually trying to be taken with an ounce of sincerity. Then again, I thought Nightcrawler looked pretty awesome in those stupid X-Men movies, so who knows...

I hope it's not gonna ruin my favourite anime too much.
If it's story is exactly the same as original one, then it suck.

I've always thought that Stephen Chow should be involved in a DBZ movie, should one ever come to light. At least the fight scenes will be good, if nothing else. =/

Why. God... just what we need. Piccolo and Goku fighting in the lunchroom cafeteria and Chi-Chi looking like a cheerleading slut. :| Wonder how the hell they're going to explain Gohan... unless this is supposed to take place after Dragonball but before Dragonball Z (in which I could have sworn Goku was in late 20s to early 30s...)

Well, Mexico (if you guys didn't notice by now). Is the closest locale that has a slight resemblence of one of the DB locations. Everything, from the villages, to the barren desserts.

locales of Mexico

locales of DBZ

Tenkaichi

^ So far I can come up with that has a slight Mexico look.
