D-Skin Disc Protectors...

Anyone here use these? If so, please post your opinion of the product...

I won a free 5 pack through SunCoast awhile back, but after reading Amazon's reviews, well, I am glad I didn't use any of them! Funny thing is, seems the reviews online from most gaming sites and professional reviewers say the opposite to what most consumers are saying! Hmmm...

For the Cons:

For the Pros:

Oh well, what's your take on this all?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I bought a 5 pack a while back, and have kept two of my frequently used PS2 discs under the wraps. I've dropped these discs a few good times, and I still don't notice any scratches. I say the wraps work just fine, and I'm quite surprised there are some negative opinions about them.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

They're too expensive for what you get. As it stands for most media, just making a copy of it and using THAT in your CD/DVD player costs less than buying D-Skins. PS2 games are a different story, since you can't play backups natively with the hardware. Perhaps in that case it's a valid investment. The same applies to dual-layer DVDs, as it is not cheap to replicate those (I'm willing to bet the MPAA has something to do with the high prices of such media).

I take care of my stuff well enough so that there aren't any scratches so bad that the product is ruined. I've sooner injured myself than my CDs, DVDs, and games. If I can do it, I think everyone can.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I guess I ought to try one on my extra CDs I have sitting around, but since I only really need it for DVDs and console games, and those drives (From what people tell me) appear to have problems with it, I don't know what to think...

Oh well, I'll post here once I try them out some!
