Glitches in Photoshop

I'm still using Photoshop 7. Recently, I have been having glitches which I'll try to describe. It consists mostly in windows flashing white when I click in them, or try to do a selection. It's pretty constant though, so quite annoying.

I've changed several things on my comp lately.

Installed a light version of XP which works just fine, except for one thing which could be related: I've noticed weird mouse behaviour on double clicks and stuff. It just seems unusually fast and sensible.

I've changed my video card from an old ATI All in Wonder Radeon to a geforce FX5500.

I've changed my screen from an old Iiyama CRT to a Asus LCD.

That's it ~

Any thoughts ?

edit- a selection glitch example:

How ya doing, buddy?

So it would seem installing Photoshop CS3 did the trick ... It still got glitches and even crashes when I open old PS7 psds without doing the conversion, but other wise it works fine. Oh, mysteries ~

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Update ~

So now I have random crashes in CS3 ... Will try CS2 ...

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
