Favorite Car Manufacturer

I realize I didn't get them all, but max is 20! So I just chose the first 20 that popped into my head, which hopefully means they're the 20 most popular (where I live anyways).

Why a poll when there's not enough place to list all the manufacturers?

Anyway, I'd have to say that Toyota is my favorite. The reason is because I think the company represents quality and I've always had a soft spot for their cars. Generally, their cars are of higher quality than most other cars and they have a wide selection of different kind of models which is always good.

Though I'm reluctant as to where to put my vote, because I also favor BMW alot, but I'm picking Toyota on this one.

Seriously, my favorite makes aren't the ones that I drive. I'm a huge fan of orphan makes that have gone out of business over the years. It's really interesting to see how people other than the American Big Three and the Japanese Big Two did cars back in the day. To wit:

Studebaker - the Loewry (sp?) styled mid-50's Studes are some of the most elegant cars ever made, and their styling holds up well to this day.

DeLorean - Even though they were underpowered by sports car standards, the cars oozed cool from every vent. It's too bad that the planned DMC sedan was never made; I'd have loved to see a gull-winged sedan.

Kaiser - They only made cars for a short while, yet their styling is as elegant as any established manufacturer, and their penultimate cars are more works of art than automobiles.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I think I'll pick Chrysler. Although the cars aren't as affordable as many of the others, they are quality products. For example, I know a friend that has within his family's Chrysler a device used to measure how long it'll be (in mileage) before the car runs out of gas. Now that's a nice feature!

Now I'll list off my top three, because I can't pick a bloodly one.
BMW - The M3 is quite the superior, and badass of the bunch, but the sheer amount of quality put into each and every car just is fantastic.
Honda - S2000. Enough said.
Subaru/Mitsubishi - A sort of tie between the two for me. The WRX STi, and Lan Evo compete with eachother just about equally, therefore they come in at a tie.

I know I didn't quite list each to compare the full lineup of each manufacturer, but I still retain that the top manufacturers are not American. American car manufacturers seem to think that a "revolution" in their company is a release of a variety of new shaped cars. Hey, maybe that's not the problem? Maybe it's the fact that on EVERY American car I touch, the plastic feels like I could poke through the bloody thing with enough force. I understand that it takes more money to make quality products, but when Ford Mustangs have the same plastics as a Kia, you've got a major problem.

Most Americans are impressed by little gimmiks, not that of actual build quality. Oh, and that feature is available on every Volkswagen. For that matter, every european car...

I'm not saying it isn't on other vehicles. I was just saying it adds to the quality of the product. And it isn't that I only like the cars because of items like that. The cars are comfortable, quiet, and have a better-looking interior than many cars I see on the market.

I always liked vehicles produced by Audi. They are very elegant, affordable and nippy. Although I don't have any driving experiences, I'd like to buy a good mid-range car of Audi someday.

Anything but American.

Saturn (the only American brand not totally destroyed by GM or Ford yet), Honda, and Toyota are my 3 favorites, but a lot of the European stuff (BMW, etc.) are good too.

i've got an acura and thus far it's been fantastic. it's got posh interior with leather seats, six disc changer with audio controls on the steering wheel, and ass warmers. it's pretty fast and i haven't had any problems with it thus far. for this, i'm partial to hondas, but i appreciate the quality of toyota/lexus vehicles as well. i used to have a 94 corolla and that thing was one of the most reliable vehicles ever. my mom's got a lexus lx470 which is a beast of a suv, but it drives incredibly smooth.

hopefully in the future i'll be fortunate enough in my career to get a nice lexus or a bmw, or a porsche, or a lamborghini, when my current car decides that it's had enough.

Nissan, but mainly because most of the car that we bought was Nissan. Fairly reliable, okay miliage, relatively cheap. So far it hasn't become a personal statement but rather simply getting us somewhere.

My personal favorites are Toyota, Audi, and BMW. Chrysler's are really cool to drive as well.

Not a big fan of Volkswagon, but I love those new GTI commercials, "German engineering in da haus, ja.” haha

By the way, you left out Volvo as well.

I am witness to several Honda cars going well beyond 400,000 miles with only minor and routine maintenance needed. Besides, you can take an engine out of one of their SUV's and put it in a Civic hatchback, how could you not like that interchangeability of parts?

My favourite car is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, but since its the only car that i like with Mitsubishi im gonna have to go with Audi.

The Audi S3, RS 4 and A4 are among my favourites.

Btw, BMW is way over-hyped.
Yeah, they can have some powerful and neat cars, but a lot of the love for it is just media exposure, and the ensuing status symbol that follows.
