A few, simple queries concerning the music of DQVIII...
Exactly how different is the music of the original/Japanese-version, as compared to that in the North American/English-version?
I realize they decided to change the themes in the English-version to the Orchestrated-variety -- for whatever reason -- but does that apply to every single one of them? In other words, are all the themes in the English-version entirely different from those in the Japanese-version? And, if so, has anyone actually taken it upon themsleves to rip the music from the English-version, as of yet? Also, I've heard mention of an 'arranged'-version of the DQVIII OST, and assumed it's simply the 'Symphonic Suite'-album that's being referred to, but I wasn't certain. So, is that correct? Thanks in-advance to all those whom reply. ^_^;; Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Considering that the Symphonic Suite (which is indeed the "English OST") was recorded after the game's original release, it's safe to assume that the English version had a new/different soundtrack at least to the extent of the tracks that are on the Symphonic Suite. There are tracks though, like the Intermezzo, which seem to be the same in both versions.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
