Oz AKA The Greatest Show?

Hey there!

I've been watching some OZ episodes lately, whenever I stumbled upon an half-completed episode, and I'm always dumb-struck how freakin' good this show is. From the superb acting to the crushing and violent storylines and dialogues, I've never been bored watching those.

So I'm thinking about buying the box sets but I wanna know, from those who love the show, is it really THAT good? Are all the episodes on the same level of 'greatness'? Because the box sets are quite expensive.

Anyhoo, thanks in advance!

PS- This is coming from a guy who got bored of '24' during the beginning of the third season.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

There was one story arc involving a, I shit you not, aging pill as a possible substitute for long term incarceration. Cyrill ages a lot, it last about two weeks, and then they drop the subject, Cyrill is back to normal, and they all act like that story arc never even happened. Other than that, it's top quality all the way through.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Yea, it was the strangest thing I'd ever seen. It was just out of nowhere, and they ran with it... and suddenly it was just gone, and they ignored it. Which was nice, because it was fucking awful... however, the boxsets are worth it, mate. Hours of entertainment.

Edit:

Of course Deadwood is better than Oz. But Oz is still awesome, you git. *shakes a fist*

Also, season 2 has the Swearengen / Bulloch fight. What more do you need?

I was speaking idiomatically.

I read that, and I got right choked. I mean... come on, the series was amazing. I can listen to that theme song all day. Besides which, Wild Bill was just so well done. Best. Death. Ever.

This is a series I plan to buy on DVD one day. The only reason I haven't done so yet is because, like all of HBO's shows, it's freaking expensive (the MSRP is $65, but the lowest I've seen it for is $50, which is still expensive for only eight episodes).

Little known fact is that Jack Bauer actually put 94% of the inmates from Oz in prison.

Just wait to see what he does to the guys from Prison Break...

No wonder he's that good! John McLane trained him.
