Windows off screen.

I'm running XP.

I'd love to have the option of making it so that I can't move my windows past the top edge of the screen. Or even past the taskbar (which I've got at the top of the screen).

Anyone know how to do this? Thanks.

How ya doing, buddy?

He means he wants to be able to move his open windows off the edge of the screen.

I don't think it's possible, you can move windows off the left, right and bottom parts of the screen, but I don't think moving them off the top is a viable option as there would be no way to bring them back down again, as their title bar is off screen.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I lost a window off the top of my screen once. Thankfully, I don't use the highest resolution my card / monitor can support, so I just upped the resolution, brought it back down, and went back to my normal res.

Aside form that I'm not sure.

Actually, he wants the exact opposite if I'm not mistaken. Not being able to move windows off screen.

Why anyone would want to have this restriction is beyond me, though. If you manage to "lose" a windows off screen, move it back to your desktop with ALT+SPACE+Move (navigate with arrow keys and press RETURN to place the window).

I was speaking idiomatically.

Sorry if my wording wasn't very clear, but Rock gets the request.

The reason why, is because I like to grab my windows, and toss 'em to the top of the screen, but it really sucks to have their title bar hanging halfway under the taksbar/off screen.

im annoyed by it too (my taskbar is at the top)
some programs start their windows at the top of the screen so you can't see the title bar

but the move with the arrow keys isn't too much to do to get it back on screen

Jam it back in, in the dark.

If you have an nVidia GPU, you can enable nView, which'll prohibit windows from ducking behind the taskbar, and outside of the viewable aspect itself.

Um, how? Closest I could come up with is enabling window snapping, which is good enough. Is this what you meant? Thanks!
