They need Earthworm Jim in there. He was all over the SNES. Not to mention some character(s) from Tales of Symphonia. Lloys would totally kick ass.

Also, two shield buttons is a waste. Efficiency should be a more-thought-out factor.

The way you put it, Acer, each character would have one form that is clearly dominant over the other (Why the hell would you be Bowser when you could play as Giga Bowser, or Ganondorf or "Sword Ganondorf when you could use Ganon)?. Unless the seriously toned down and evened out all the different character suits, this could be kinda flawed.

Though a teaser movie represents too little material to judge upon diverging battle-styles.

For all we know, Zero Suit Samus could unleash psychokinetic beams à la Mewtwo, just to compensate the lack of her trademark gun.

Apperently she wields a sword

I've personally never even heard of a handful of people on that list. It seems they are almost all more Japanese exclusive types of games, either that or I need to play the 3 new Fire emblem games that I havent played yet.

I think it would be fun to extend the barriers beyond humanoid characters. Sure they had Pikachu in SSBM, but even that was pretty much standing on 2 legs, dancing and/or raping the superscope all the time. Playing as a purple dragon or a friggin' Sheegoth (OMG!) might be fun, provided it had an adequate moveset.

Other than the upped graphics and disk size, they are still using the basic Cube layout and controller aren't they? So the gameplay mechanics can't be too different, at least I hope not.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I seriously hope Sonic is right where he damn well belongs: Far, far away from SSB:B. The addition of Sonic would not enrich, but rather deteriorate the game and screw it over for every one. Sonic can race, jump, ride, and adventure battle (seriously WTF?) all he wants, just keep him out of Smash.

Worst character idea ever.

This is why I don't think Sonic would be very good, and I don't mean to offend by the way, sorry if it came off that way. Anyways, so far the only attacks we have thought of are spinning/ other methods of smashing into things, and kicking. That's what Sonic's good at, but it would be pretty lame in a game like Smash. I guess they could throw him in (they being the mighty powers who make this descision) but he would probably just be unwieldly and chaotic, and suicidal. I forsee bad things for Sonic if he ventures into Smash.

What the game ends up as isn't nesessarily (sp?) set in stone either. They did mention something about online upadtes at E3 I believe. Theres always time to add new characters, if indeed you can update games online.

Falco may not be faster than fox on foot, but he has faster attach execution, better recovery time, the almost-useless wall kick maneuver and slightly more powerful smash attacks and throws. And a way better blaster...lasery thing.

I like the idea of Vectorman as well. The moves list could be almost infinite, what with the no limb construction.

I think he means that as long as it isn't either insanely powerful and noobish (ie. Spin attack) or way to hard to pull of realistically, then it could work out. As far as outlandishness, I think this edition of SSB will be pretty odd.

When did Link's family tree become an issue. I thought we just assumed he was al the same, regardless of amount of cel shading. Just accept that he it Link and he has a sword and stuff. People shouldn't over-analize (fucking spelling) something as lame as whether or not link's family history is spotless from one game to the next.

What you're missing is the fact that Link's development (or lack of) throughout the series is crutial to the game's story, as it is with any series. You might as well be saying "fuck story, I want me some good graphics".

Spoiler:
As far as I remember, Wind Waker Link is not the same link from Oot/MM. Same goes for Twighlight Princess; a completely different Link.

But his vioce is the same, his chivalric personality is the same, his allegiance with the princess is the same, he looks pretty much the same, with cel-shading takin into account, his quest around the triforce is usually at least vaguely simaler, his weapon choice is always centered around the usual (sword, bow, arrow, some grappling device). These cannot be completely different people. They are just put into completely different scenarios in each game. Fuck you dude, I never even mentioned favoring gameplay over graphics, you know I don't ride dirty like them graffix hogs.
