Not to be a dick or anything, but what exactly is it about the Halo franchise that's made its multiplayer so much better than, say, Unreal or Quake games?

(Actually starting to wonder if I should get this game to play it with you guys even though I'll be miserably terrible.)

It's not? It's a different style of play than those games by a huge margin, so going into it expecting to be rewarded for the same tactics and conventions is going to get you brutally slaughtered.

Some people like it's conventions more, but it's hardly "better". Do you want a breakdown of what to expect, or something?
I guess not necessarily better, since I was never much a fan of UT or Quake, just why does it have this massive following when the other games seem to only get a fraction of the attention.

Like, I had figured it would be somewhat similar to that UT2k3 (or was it 2k4, I forget) that had vehicles and control points, except with CTF, team deathmatch, etc.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Hey guys, apparently the free Live trial is only if you're creating a new gamertag, and since I used RacinReaver for GTA IV on my PC, that name isn't eligible for the month. Still waiting for the 12 month sub I ordered to come in by mail even though I ordered it ages ago.

Anyway, had girlfriend make a profile which I'll probably be playing with later tonight. It's "SenioritaOsita" if any of you guys want to add me for later tonight.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Assassinating folger and then teabagging him made the 360 purchase worth it.

Also, right afterward folger and I got into a firefight and right after my shield went down and I had to reload one of you guys slammed him with a shell from a tank.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

I saw the tank, I just keep forgetting about FF and how easy it is to roadkill someone in Halo. I've been an engineer too many times in BF2 and gotten used to tanks just driving through me when I'm on their team.

Just played the zombie mode (safe havens) earlier today for a few rounds. I think it's my favorite mode in the game since it's small scale, quick action, and doesn't take a billion shots to kill someone.

Man, same here with those problems q. I have a hard time not slamming the joystick all the way to the edge, and I also tend to not turn exactly horizontal. I always wind up facing someone's feet or ten feet above their head.

I've found gruntpocalypse to actually be pretty good practice, though fuck them and their sticky plasma grenades.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

I'm up for it. I'll be on tomorrow morning probably starting around 7 AM Pacific (-8 GMT).

Jam it back in, in the dark.

For anyone that's interested, you can sell the game back to Amazon for $37.50 right now. If you're like me and bought it for $40 from there you essentially got to play it since day one almost for free.

(I'm selling mine back since I really don't have much fun when I'm not playing with you guys, and I never seem to be on the same time as you guys, so there's no real point in me having the game.)

There's nowhere I can't reach.
