Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces
from novel to anime to game:
(The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) the game is developed by namco's ace combat team. while lurking, i noticed that there are a lot of hardcore ace combat people here ... was wondering if anyone has played this and what do they think of it? (sorry, level's not high enough to pos images Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I have heard some very, VERY mixed things from import reviews, which made me skip the import entirely. I hadn't given it a second thought until I heard about the local release, which I am much more willing to look into. Other than that, I really have got nothing.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
well i guess, from me, i am sort of a avion nut so i like any flying games so my view's won't be accurate.
what sort of mixed things did you hear specifically if i may ask. i've probably only read a few good ones so i am curious on hearing the bad ones This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Most everyone mentions the inaccuracy of the controls as the largest turnoff, along with the simplified flight system. PRESS A TO GET INTO POSITION is kinda, well, stupid. In addition to the ridiculous notion of the wiimote being the damn throttle, the nunchuck stick controlling preprogrammed maneuvers (think Warhawk's Novice flight mode with the DS3's right stick), and the actual nunchuck twisting/turning controlling roll and pitch.
Yeah. How ya doing, buddy? |
my friend got me a copy and i finally got what you mean. the looks (scenery) and its theme, etc seemed interesting enough but i get what you mean by its controls.
i never really gotten past level 2 (had a plane to catch).. don't know if it'll get harder. definately took me a while to get used to the controls (try to do the blazing angel control for a while). haven't really found a game yet that gives you a good 360 loop. the anime-movie was excellent though. sad, weird, disturbing but i enjoyed it I was speaking idiomatically. |
