How To Feature Journals?
There are two spots on the main ChocoJournal page to feature 10 journals on each spot. Which method do you think is the best to feature the most interesting/popular journals?
Previously we have tried: Warks (a formula based on comments/post time/total views), View Count, Comment Count and Props. Did you like any of the methods we used previously? Do you have any better ideas? How ya doing, buddy? |
Just make it random. Anything else encourages whoring, and produces an unrealistic result.
Most amazing jew boots |
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I kind of like most recent comments, that way you can see where everyone is reading and what people are saying. Makes things easier to keep up with.
But thats just me. I would say everything else should be randomized, mostly because we're all likely to compete otherwise. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Adsense.
Edit : Of course I am not gonna spam further by adding more off-topic posts about adsense, but adding the code for adsense would take, hmm... 4 minutes and a half, and would save us the next chocosponsor. What the fuck are we waiting for I was speaking idiomatically.
I'm a zombie.

Edit: actually, I wouldn't even mind if we filled up that props/warks box with adsense ads instead.
How ya doing, buddy? |
The props/warks thing was stupid, but most recent comments was helpful. It made it very easy to track whatever journal drama was going on.
FELIPE NO |
I also like the idea of listing them by the most recent comments. I sort of don't like the idea of featuring the journals that are automatically going to be the most popular (see: Sass' journal) because what's the point? Everyone already knows which journals get the most action.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
The recent comments thing is good. Warks/props are bad. Maybe for the second set of ten, you could put the least viewed journal entries created over the past two or three days. That would be good right.
Jam it back in, in the dark. I didn't say I wouldn't go fishin' with the man.
All I'm sayin' is, if he comes near me, I'll put him in the wall. |
Least viewed is actually a great idea. Since there are folks out there talking to themselves most of the time, it would give them an audience.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I thought so too, but apparently bobo didn't
An addendum to that idea, would be to of course not include the ten most recent journal entries, for obvious reasons. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. I didn't say I wouldn't go fishin' with the man.
All I'm sayin' is, if he comes near me, I'll put him in the wall. |
Go for it.
