Man, I feel the same exact way. Cut it with the shitty fucking flashbacks, already. So Hurley is insane, Locke's father is perceived to be the Conman from Sawyer's past, Kate is a MURDERER. We GOT it. Let's move on, here.

I've almost stopped caring all together. I mean, maybe its because I'm convinced its all some big huge experiment (which I wanted to NEVER HAPPEN as the actual plot), and theres a bunch of fucking scientist gurus fucking with the survivors. I swear to god, if thats what this plot turns out to be, there's no telling you the level of my anger.

I REALLY wanted more focus on Henry Gale this episode. Instead, I see fatass shoving peanut butter down his gullet while seeing a lunatic in the woods in a bathrobe.

I HOPE some other people feel a little fucking GYPED. No wonder the ratings are going down. LOOK at this tripe.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I don't so much want an explanation of the monster so much as to see it kick ass again. Or if its only purpose is scan brains and uproot trees for the sake of it then it can go, because they rarely do anything with it and its lack of even apparent consistency makes it seem like a false threat overall.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Yea, I'm with you on this. I wish it would pose MORE of a threat. Like when Ana Lucia, Sayid and Charlie head up to the balloon site, I was COMPLETELY expecting them to run into the monster.

BUT OOPS. THAT DOESN'T EXIST ANYMORE.

The show is getting so inconsistent. Its fucking ANNOYING.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I also was expecting them to run into the monster. I was like oh snap, they're deep in the mothafuckin jungle, I know the monster is somewhere around here.

I can just hear Ana now, "What the hell is that thing!"

That would have been Charlie's 3rd encounter with it, which would have been lol'in.

Like I said, it's not so much that I want to see it kill something or be explained or some shit, but it's gotten increasingly gay since the pilot. It pretty much went from: thing that kills dudes -> thing that kills dudes but happens to like Locke -> thing that kills dudes in hallucinations -> thing that grabs dudes by the leg and drags them but it easily scared (not destroyed) by dynamite -> thing that scans your head and runs.

Should we be afraid of it? I DON'T KNOW. Yet somehow it's better to think so than it is to be unsure. Same goes with not pushing the button. Killed by ambiguity.

Well supposedly episodes 21-25 are supposed to be really good and involve the map that Locke saw (gasp; in the same season?)

Waiting for Walt/Locke/Desmond to show up again. Waiting for this Alex - whom I swore was supposed to be a recurring character by now - to be a recurring character by now.

w00t! spoilers galore for me!!!

Judging from what I've read (yeh all nine pages so far) it seems Lost is getting to complex. On top of that, the characters are getting too stale.

Personally, I think a complex story is a good one, provided the ending absolutely blows us away. If the complex story isn't backed up by a killer ending, the Lost creators will be assassinated.

And as for the characters, I reckon we need to shoot the ones getting stale. They were supposed to kill Jack off in the first episode, so why not kill him now (YES!!!)?

How ya doing, buddy?

Because he's not Michael Keaton as was originally planned, I guess.

He actually bores me more than any of the other male characters, though. I guess because he's so... Plain. He's not a drug addict or torturer or conman or drug lord or hitman; he's just a doctor. Locke is rather normal in a similar sense however he's mysterious in his ability to walk and he actually drives the plot forward a lot. I mean, the whole hatch development is his gig.

Imagining Michael Keaton as Jack makes me lol.

Locke is by a wide margin my favorite character. He's such a burdened character. He carries so much bullshit on his back, and seeing him perservere and kick ass on this island is really great. He has the only back story I really care about.

What I loved about the monster last season was how imposing it was. Here they all are on this island after our plane crashes, and the last thing they could possibly need right now is some kind of monster. All of a sudden we hear this crazy horn sound and we see all the trees swaying around. That is FREAKY. Now all we see is this big horizontal plume of black smoke... It just kills it for me. For me, a good explanation is the only thing that can save the smoke monster.

Apparently the black smoke isn't it's "full form", which is funny. Because before Season 1's finale, they said "we'd get to see 5% of the monster". Then after 23rd Psalm (Eko's episode) Javi said we had seen "quite a bit!"

So unless the thing transforms into Maximums Prime we saw the whole thing the first time we saw it skirt by in the jungle, it just get's bigger.

Wow.

You kind of have to figure it's not a robot, dinosaur, or something of the like, because that just doesn't seem to *fit* with the show... It's almost logical that it's something unexplainable and, well, totally fucking nuts.

But man, if it was a tangible being, that would add a whole new dimension and give the show a much-needed kick in the balls. Instead of just worrying about survival from nature, they now have to fight off a fucking actual MONSTER (or even more than one!). That would end the constant bickering and bitching between all the survivors that I'm getting so damn sick of. Not only that, it would thin out the herd a bit.

How ya doing, buddy?

The monster's like a balloon! It'll explode on the creators' hands when it grows old or too big. Sadly. It was a nice touch to the story, but should be forgotten now. I don't think it has anything to do with anything anymore. Only because I think the writers are making the series on the fly without knowing what happens in the episodes a few in the future.

They should just forget the older stuff that's happened but not contradict it (to satisfy the fans with magnifying glasses) and move on to new stuff. That's one of the charms of the series: every episode has some kind of "WTF"s in it.

And also. What the hell, Jack's not stale. Didn't you guys see the episodes with his past? He ruined his father's life for not staining his own career. He's badass the same way Wesley (in emo-mode) was in Angel. And also doesn't let philosophical-shit-sprouting fags like Locke (to whom I kinda relate to) rule over him. He's American!

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I like his backstory ALOT, but on the island he's a complete tightass. He answers every question with a question, assumes superiority, and is just a plain ol' shithead. It's annoying to watch him because I know the type of person and people like that INFURIATES me.

I don't think pwning your dad's career is as badass as shooting a dude in the head when you're a kid, or witnessing your parent's death, or being forced to try to murder a dude (Jin), having your kidney stolen, etc.

I'm just saying like for him to occupy so much screen time he has one of the plainer backstories. All he basically did was the right thing; his situation was hardly morally or ethically ambiguous. Sure it was difficult that it was his dad he had to burn, but meh.

Anyone notice the number of characters who are indirectly or directly responsible for someone's death? Someone on the fuselage pointed it out.

Ana-Lucia - killed the dude who killed her child, killed Shannon by accident, but also killed Goodwin (damn)
Charlie - shot down Ethan
Eko - shot a dude at a very young age; presumbaly killed plenty other guys
Hurley - indirectly caused the deaths of two people
Kate - killed her father (or step father? I never truly understood her plot)
Sawyer - Killed the man he thought was Sawyer

Am I missing anyone? The island is filled with murderers.

Unfortunately, Jack has to assume superiority because no-one else will and he was made de-facto leader by everyone else. It's a tough fact of life but some people are superior to others.

Kind of makes me think how easy it really is to actually commit a homicide. The other "sins" mess with you more.

Well, you can also add that he decided to operate on his future fiance instead of Shanon's dad (who then died).

Pre-emptive spoiler for S.O.S.
Spoiler:
Bernard-Rose Centric

Bernard is basically the only rationally acting individual to date he wants to know why everyone is becoming so comfortable in there environment. The food, the hatch, the others, people are becoming too comfortable EKO and Charlie are indeed making a Church. He can’t understand why everyone isn’t trying constantly to get off the island. He gets some people to help him with an S.O.S. sign but Rose gives him a hard time and eventually everyone deserts him.

They met recently he pushed her car out of the snow and she asked him out.
They dated for 5 months then asked for her hand in marriage while at Niagra falls.
She tells him she’s dying of Cancer and has about a year left. They still marry.
On honeymoon he brings her to ISAAC ULURA a faith healer in Australia. (Ayers Rock)

He says the geological location of the rock helps heal through him or something like that.

She didn’t know about it until she got there. ISAAC was going to try to heal her and had the same type of reaction Claire’s Psychic had. He said “I can’t heal you but that doesn’t mean you can’t be healed.”
She decides that she will tell Bernard that the Healer fixed her so he would stop trying to (“Save her.”)

As we can all guess she is somehow healed due to the islands mystical powers. She can just feel it she felt it as soon as she crashed on the island. She tells him she had lied about being cured by the healer but is now cured by the island and is afraid of returning home. Her and Bernard decide that they will never leave the island. Slightly before this she is sitting with Locke on the beach.

Locke starts by trying to draw the map from memory and is very frustrated. He almost forgets about the numbers. The preview we saw last week with Henry and a Devilish grin is caused by Locke yelling at Henry through the door. (Did you or didn’t you push the buttons!?) Locke goes off to the beach to sit and think. When Rose comes to sit with him.

Dialogue about Bernard.
Rose - you’ll be up and around in no time.
Locke- Jack says it’ll be at least 4 weeks
Rose – Yeah but you and I know it’s not gonna take for weeks.

Both stare at each other with a grin.

Henry is refusing to talk to anyone and Jack obviously went out to discuss a trade for Walt. Which Henry says they will never give up Walt. He brings Kate since they don’t want her since they never intended to keep her once she was captured. They get caught in Rosseau’s net Kate.

Kate tells Jack about the Medical Hatch and the disguises. Why didn’t you tell me because I’m not in the CLUB anymore. You kept a guy in the Hatch for a week and didn’t tell me. YADA YADA YADA They get to the spot where Zeke was and Jack shouts and shout till he loses his voice.

She’s sorry for kissing him and he says I’m not. And they have a moment but right then a torch is seen zigging zagging coming closer. Hear a man panting and he collapses right in front of them face down. They turn him over he has passed out. It’s Michael.

No we go through everyone on the island to some music from the record player Locke continues to draw his map. Charlie and EKO building church. Hurley and Libby doing shadow puppets. Jin touching Suns belly. Claire and Arron laughing. Sawyer looks lonely and Vincent runs up to him and he gives him some food and a pat. Rose and Bernard holding hands.

Then you see Rose at the airport drop her meds and Locke wheels by picks them up and hands them to her. SHE KNOWS HE WAS IN A WHEELCHAIR yippeeee

That I think is the whole shebang oh and Kate and Jack gets out of the trap by Jack taking one shot and shooting the rope. Kate missed her first shot.

Surprisingly disappointing; nothing much to talk about or theorize over for the two week break.

Supposedly after this two week break it's a consistent run of episodes up until the finale? I heard the last few episodes are supposed to be great; we find out what the ? is and what the hatch has been for, etc. The finale is supposed to be catastrophic. I'm wondering how so.

Catastrophic eh? Sounds like it's time to thin out the herd a bit, and it sounds like smokey will be the one to do it.

Or, maybe my theory of another plane hitting the islad will come true. I would really love to see that happen. We need some better characters on the show. That would be a nice way to kill 2 birds with one stone. Half of the survivors are wiped out by a plane crash, which in turn gives us some new people to follow.

Just so long as they don't get rid of Sawyer, Sayid, Locke, Jakc, Kate, Hurley, Charlie or Eko, I'll be happy.

I like how Eko has found his Boone in Charlie. I hope that Charlie doesn't end up the same way...

Yes there is.

I believe next week in place of Lost they're showing Alias (I may be incorrect), which ends this season. The week after that is a dreaded clip-episode. Although clip-episodes are probably pretty necessary since Lost is so complex and it's hard for people to get in to it during the middle of it.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
