Well, Versus XIII seems to be making him out to be the protagonist. Then again, Versus XIII's connection with XIII isn't clear, so who knows?

Well, it's "Versus" XII. Maybe in XIII you play as the chick and in Vs XIII, you play it through the perspective of the villain in XIII so that he's your 'protagonist.'

Well, how about FFXIII would be the main game, normal great FF core stuff with improve cinematic feel both in cutscene, gameplay and battle.

And after that you get to play Versus which would be the entire same story but you play as the “villains”, so you get to see how they think, and how they’ve got through all this.

Of course, this would require some heavy duty story, where in the main FFXIII, a player could actually understand the villain and why he’s acting “evil” (kinda like the last boss in SH2), to the point where a player could even ask himself throughout the game if he is really on the good side. That way playing as the “bad guys” would be much appealing. Just an idea… what do you guys think?

About the guy in the big chair, he is surely evil, look at his boots!

I guess, in essence, it is a gunblade. As the weapon does transform/morph between gun and blade. Ahh, another fine mechanical device/weapon from the would of FF.

Like I said before, SE says that there is no conncetion between FFXIII and FFXIII Versus other than talking place in the same universe and having common mythos. FFXIII Versus is it's own game.

The trigger portion of the gunblade was only really used during normal battles by pressing R1, if I recall correctly.

Otherwise, it wasn't in any cutscenes.

They're bound to be intertwined. I bet there's going to be some sappy ass love story between the two protagonists (slash villian maybe). He's so emo because he's not getting any.

They'd never make the main character of one major game a girl if she weren't to do something stupidly girly, like fall in love with the villian or the villian was her former lover or the villian killed her lover and she's seeking revenge, etc, etc. I'm rooting for her to kick ass, but they will make her fall inevitably under the WICKEDNESS OF HER WOMANLY HORMONES.

If this is truth, then the ending will climax in her killing him off, therefore resulting in a major tear jerker where he will proclaim his undying love. And then die.

Is the FFXIII Vs. trailer online yet? I am intrigued.

To expand a moment on Rydia's explanation: As I understand it, the "Gun" portion of the blade gave it extra power when the trigger was pulled. I THINK that it was used in a way where the force made by the gunpowder of the bullets combined with the momentum of swinging the blade gave Squall/Siefer an extra 'push' of power and so they were able to gain more damage from thier attack. Laws of Physics at work, essentially.

Yeah yeah, I know... Final Fantasy and Physics Laws aren't exactly intimate

As for the connection between the different announced titles: So basically FFXIII and FFXIII Versus are related in a situation similar to how FFXII and Final Fantasy Tactics are related? ...That they take place in the same 'world' or 'universe', but at different places and times?

As for the "Agito", it probably acts like Before Crisis does to the main FFVII, in that its a sort of 'back-story' to the main game(s).

I hope I got this right, so that I don't have to think too much about it later

Nah, it's that you'd shoot at exactly the same time that you swung, making the enemy suffer from both blade and bullet wounds.

In certain battles where you couldn't attack up close, I believe Squall could still shoot from a distance.

I was talking to Xaldin from KH-vids.net on MSN, and he noticed that Nomura had hinted his next project for a good damn while, and not just in Advent Children which was where he told fans to look out for hints, which he stated in the KH2 Ultimania interview.

We can say he's been hinting this since the Deep Dive trailer from Kingdom Hearts Final Mix.

The 13 ansem reports, 13 floors in Castle Oblivion, Organization XIII.

All are number 13.

And check out this shot from Advent Children:

Conclusion? Nomura's been hinting on this for a damn good while, and the concept was probably underway and development was going on before FF12 was even announced!

What do YOU think?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

13 is a very popular and widely considered to be unlucky number, it isn't surprising that it would be used to represent the organization, Oblivion or ansems reports. I agree with Mucknuggle; you are just looking way too deep into the meaning when there are other more plausible explanations.

Okay, we found another thing Nomura is obsessed with. The number 13.

Anyway, FFVXIII has that guy as the main character and the game is being developed by the Kingdom Hearts team including Shimomura. The only connection between this game and FFXIII is PROBABLY the world. But I heard even the world isn't the same. It's a spinoff with the FF name but I'm wondering if they're just using the name as a sales tactic. Either way, I'd buy this without the FF name. It looks promising.

Okay, then what was the hints that Nomura said that appeared in Advent Children, hinting his next project? It was from the interviews, so this is not something I made up. When asked about his next project, he told us to watch AC again to look for hints.

And I doubt this is all a coincidences, the fact the number was used so many times in KH2 seem to indicated that KH2 hinted FFXIII VS project moreso than Advent Children did, unless it was some other hint?

Also, I'm sure it was also mere coincidence that Nomura was not in involved with FF12 but FF13 instead?

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Yeah, pretty similar. The games take place in save universe, but have different Characters, World and Story. The Mythology and other elements well connect them.

From what I understand Agito is prequel to FFXIII, but no one knows how far backand it's likely that it won't necessary to understand FFXIII's story It might give more infi some Characters past's and such.
