Does DS lite comes in other colour other than white?
Like the original, over time, we just might see a red, and navy Lite.

I just ordered my DS Lite on Lik-Sang the other day. I would've waited to get the DS Lite when it released next month, but i'm going on an out of state trip for school and my DS is really messing up on me with the crappy response (or no response at all) R and L buttons.

So I asked my mom to get it for me since she owed me a birthday present anyway, so I should be getting it in due time before my trip on friday.

I can't wait. I have really high hopes for it.

This might've been said already, but is there any difference at all between the japanese DS Lite and the one America is getting? You can set the japanese DS Lite to english right? I'm just wondering if I should wait for the NA release or just import it.

Also, someone in CAG mentioned an online store that offers $75 store credit for your old DS.

Quote:
www.estarland.com gives $75 trade in for a silver DS, and $80 for a blue currently. If you dont spend the credit before they recieve the system they will also refund your shipping charge to your account in credit.
Anyone ever shopped from them before? Are they reliable?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

The only difference is the inital language setting is in Japanese, and that all the manuals and the model info on the DS itself are in Japanese. Once you go through the setting the inital preferences and stuff, you can change it to English.

I see. And what's the cheapest price for japanese Lites right now? If it's the same as the NA price, I'll probably import it with the cash I get from selling the DS. The month wait is too long, especially with New Super Mario Bros due tommorow.

I remember reading $180. Everywhere else is about $200 for an imported Lite.

SOLDIER, unless you want a color that's not white (only other colors are Light Blue and Navy Blue), it'd be cheaper if you just waited for the Lite to come to the US. The US price will be cheaper than the JPN retail price (16,800 yen = about $150).

I'm a bastard and I can't wait, so I imported it. I highly doubt they're gonna do the same thing they did in Japan... With the whole, "Let's release the white one first and make people whore our product. Then a week later, we can release two more colors and make even more money!" idea. Either way, the US might not get the same colors as the Japanese did. They got a solid red, electric pink, pure white, graphite black, and a turquoise blue color.

And what did we get? Silver, Electric Blue, a Nintendogs edition, and a Mario Kart edition. Whoo. Party.

The other two colours were only delayed a week due to manufacturing problems, plus DS was selling out everywhere anyway (and still is), so they didn't need to do that, in fact it would have been more beneficiary if they hadn't, just to get more raw units out there for consumption.

But the two Nintendogs editions that were released here were pink (though I think it was called pearl pink) and turquoise, and the Mario Kart edition is solid red. The only reason they had those names is because those games (Nintendogs: Best Friends Edition and Mario Kart) came packed-in with the system. So really, we are only missing white and black ones.

Actually, there are two different reds.

The Mario Kart One they classified as Hot Rod Red. This one came with a white top and a light-copperish bottom. The Solid Red in Japan is well... Solid Red.

I though the Nintendogs one was a teal or something... I might be mistaken.

Okay, I looked up a pic of the Mario Kart one, and it's not solid red. My bad. But still, it's close enough so that people who actually wanted a red one will still be satisfied with it.

And yeah, the Nintendogs one is called teal, but it really looks about the same as the Japanese turquoise one (the Japanese one may be a tad bit darker, though).

Ah, that clarifies everything with the Teal thing. Whatever though...

I seriously can't wait any longer for my DS Lite... Last time, I checked it on the tracker for UPS, it's SOMEWHERE in Kentucky. Shouldn't be much longer now until it reaches New Jersey. Especially sucks for me, because I just bought the New Super Mario Bros., and I have NOTHING to play it on. T_T

The DS Lite in Japan or the US?

Because the Lite isn't coming out in the US until June 11th...

Mario Bros came out just this past Tuesday... The DS Lite in Japan came out over two months ago...

Whatever.

I just got my DS Lite today, and god this thing is a sexy piece of technology. At least the people at Lik-Sang were nice enough to provide DS users with a guide on how to switch up the language. Not a big deal though, but I managed to find my way without the guide.

Looking back at my old DS, and looking at my current one. I NEVER want to go back to my old one, as nice as that was, I just can't get over the fact that the DS Lite fixed most of the problems the original DS had. It's worth every penny.

As for screen protectors for this thing, the ones they have out now will work just fine, except you have to line up the upper screen a little differently since the plastic is slightly bigger than the screen there. So you don't need to import any fancy DS Lite specific screen protectors, any of them will do just fine.

Post

Is there any idea as to when the other flavors of the DS Lite will be available in U.S. shores? I purchased the New Super Mario Bros. just yesterday and finished it later that afternoon, my current DS is currently destined to be a hand me down and just wondering if I should hold off the June 11th date. :eyebrow:

There's nothing confirmed as of now, but I don't see why NOA wouldn't release at least one other color sometime in the future, most likely before the end of the year (the holiday season would be a good time to do this).
