The next Ninja Gaiden is going to be on the PS3? I remeber hearing the rumors last year, but I didn't think Team Ninja would really do it.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |

If future Xbox 360 games get the option to output at 1080p, it will be in the same boat as the PS3. Especially since few games on either platform could run at that resolution. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Either way though, if you put the same game on both the 360 and the PS3 running at 1080p, and make it something graphic intensive... let's say Ninja Gaiden 2. The 360 would have a much larger likelyness of having performance glitches then the PS3, that's all I'm trying to say. Obviously it takes more power to make anything a higher resolution, hence why the PS1 was in 640/320 and the PS2 was in like 1024/768 (or something)

X360 had a great showing at TGS this year, as far as Japanese games go. Trusty Bell, the Mistwalker RPGs, DOAX2, The Idolmaster (still no date, dammit), Culdecept Saga, Super Robot Wars XO. Nevermind that half of those games are ones that most US gamers don't give a shit about.
I was more impressed by Trusty Bell than the Mistwalker games though. Both Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon look like alot of fun, but Trusty Bell seems a bit more interesting, especially to an anime fan like myself. Plus, I'm interested in seeing how Tri-Crescendo's first completely solo RPG will turn out (as Baiten Kaitos was done with Monolith Soft). Over time, my opinion might change of course. Watching these games, and then watching the PS3's games, I couldn't help but wonder how long it will take developers to develop games requiring the HD-DVD drive. How long will the standard DVD cut it? I was speaking idiomatically. |
Unfortunatly M$ said that the HD-DVD drive will not and cannot be used for games, so get ready for future games to have disc swapping.
As for TGS, Trusty Bell looked good, but a bit generic to me. Also Namco arn't the best RPG developers around, Xenosaga was good, but it still had some mahor flaws. Blue Dragon looks awesome to me however. As soon as I saw White Knight Story for the PS3 though, I knew that THAT is a TRUE next-gen RPG. Unfortunatly it's been hard for me to find coverage on many of the other 360 titles because it seems that Sony overtook this years TGS. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Indeed, Trusty Bell does look generic (espeically the art style, which I really like), but I guess I just want that sort of thing. I heard that there's was supposed to be some musical theme to the battle system to make it interesting, but I have yet to see it. Plus, I like the voice actress Hirano Aya, who's playing that Polka character.
White Knight Story is just too impressive! Makes me wish Level 5 were working on other consoles. IGN had some good X360 coverage. For the rest of the games, I had to search for them on Google Japan using their Japanese titles. How ya doing, buddy? |
You're a smart one arn't ya? ^^
Looking things up in Japanese and everything. As for IGN, I'll have to go there and check it out. (hoping for a new podcast soon on TGS) As for Trusty Bell, if it has a music theme to it that hasn't been covered yet then perhaps I'll have to keep an eye on it yet. Last RPG with music based battle system was Rhapsody for the PS1... it wan't all that great ^^; What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
About zee 360...
I'm thinking of getting one soon, but I'm a bit hesistant because of some problems I've heard happening to the console it self. I've read stories of people having to send their console in for repairs of freezing or red lights of death or something. It reminds me of the problems the first generation PS2's had when they first came out - I unfortunately was one of those people who had a defective 1st gen PS2. Can anyone shed some light on the 360 subject for me? Is it safe to Most amazing jew boots |

Are all the overheating issues I'm reading about true or are people just exaggerating?
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Overexaggerated, my good sir.

I've been told that by using an xbox 360 VGA cable, and a CRT monitor which supports 1280x, you can run xbox 360 games at 720p. Is this true?
If so, awesome. I'd like to get a 360 for Viva Pinata, Chromehounds and Gears of War but I've put it on an infinite hold due to the fuss over high definitions. Acer told me it'd be wise to get a HDTV for a 360, but ultimately I don't want to start the next generation that way. Also, when the fuck are they going to add Panzer Dragoon Orta and JSRF to their update lists? Sigh. Anyway, I'm in two mind's whether to purchase one, or hold off for a Wii. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
All I'm saying is if it's just a tv for gaming in your personal space that 32 inches, a good contrast ratio, and under $1500 should be your guideline for getting a tv that will last you through this generation. But hell if you can already use something you've got with a 30-60 dollar cable then why not. I'd just wonder if you can use that monitor for widescreen or anything.
FELIPE NO |
I dunno, but viewing high definition trailers of 360 games is great. My maximum resolution on this monitor can't do 1080i though, but I don't really mind.
I'm surprised at the amount of detail Gears of War has. Oh, and Oblivion looks great (not half as good as Gears of War) as well. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Get a CRT HD TV. They cost half of LCD's, and the only reason I didn't get one is because they're unavailable. More or less sold out two months in advance over here.
Because it's a normal tube, you'll have no problems regarding contrast ratio or pixel trash. You'll have a TV that will last you a good many years till they've perfected LCD's or they make something better. Look up on the Philips one's as they're slightly better than Samsung in this case. (Geometry should be perfect on the Philips). Another thing. If you've waited this long, hold on just a couple of months more. The new low noise/heat 360 is due soon. I'm waiting for it anyway, and hopefully by then the HD-DVD player will be out too. And lastly, everyone should check out Assassins Creed. The HD demonstration trailer at gametrailers is running on the 360, though said to look exactly the same on PS3. If you haven't seen it yet, GTFO and return when you have =) Jam it back in, in the dark. |
It does look better then Oblivion, but what Oblivion did in terms of volume will not be eclipsed anytime soon.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Just wondering if anyone has purchased the two year extended service contract? Trying to gauge whether I should pony up the $60...
Looking at Team XBOX, it seems many bitch that the console seems to break down out of nowhere! Oh well, will look into it at least. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I got it, but I leave my console on over 8 hours a day many days of the week and never had an issue in 13 months. The thing doesnt even get warm, but hey thats just my 360.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Probably couldn't afford not too get one at this point...
I was speaking idiomatically. |
I'm buying myself an Xbox 360 this month !!! It was worth the wait since it is a little cheaper and there are many great games now (err Gears of War).
Anyway, I'm buying the 360 together with 3 games, do you guys have an opinion ? All I know is that I'm taking Dead or Alive 4 because I'm a fan of the series. Besides this one, I was thinkin in Project Gotham Racing 3 and Gears of War. What d'you think ? What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Oblivion is a pretty damn good choice too. It's long and fun. If you like such games, of course...
How ya doing, buddy? |
Yeah pretty good choices there. I am not that big of a fan of fighting games so I wouldn't pick DOA4 though.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I'd get Dead Rising before I got DoA4, having played both. DoA4 doesn't really add anything to earlier incarnations except for flashier graphics.
