Well surprise surprise, my local Best Buys, Walmarts, and Futureshops are having their share of the line up of die hard fans. There were about 10 people for each store lined up cuddled up in sleeping bags and chilling out, literally. I like how I asked the girl as I bought some blank CDs how much the PS3 was, $659.99. It looks like they'll start handing out number tags at 7:00 AM tomorrow, so the night owls will obviously have first dibs.

Geez... I wonder if it's just better off for me to wait until February to get one. I'll have a talk with my father when he gets home around midnight or something about what we're gonna do. If he's up to go exploring for a PS3, then hell I'll go at it with him. If not... see you next year, PS3 =\

Maybe not. According to Gamespot, Sony will ship 100k consoles every week after NA launch. Take that with a grain of salt, but who knows.

100k. That'd be fantastic.
My plans for global dominat- erm, I mean getting a PS3 tomorrow morning have diminished. There are already 40 people in line at Circuit City und Best Buy. The only thing that will bring me hapiness now is a surplus of PS3's arriving within the next few weeks, rendering the online auction inflation useless; but that will never happen. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
Love it.

When I went to Wal-Mart at about 2 o'clock in the afternoon today there were people lining up in front of the electronics section playing blackjack and even brought their own gambling table to play other related games. All together there was only about 10 people at the time, if I had the money I definitely would have waited in line. It was like the PS3 was toying with my emotions saying ,"Get in line you know you want to." Why couldn't PS3 come out a month earlier. T.T
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
well I called ebgames and I asked them if they have they ps3 for tomorrow and they said they only have some for the pre-order and when I said that I was one of them he told me that there was no problem and could come get it tomorrow XD *me very happy*
I was speaking idiomatically. |
Also, Inhert, congrats! What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
OH MAN! The Gamespot live coverage is halarious!
"AIGHT! So, this is the most important information tonight. If you got a green or yellow wristband, you go to my left, and.... Hold on, gimme some of that [grabs tray of samples of food], ya'll know this shit is free, so I'll have me some-" FELIPE NO

Too bad for the first four people camping out at that store. :] What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Getting mine in 8 hours, hopefully. Wish me luck that I A) don't get mugged, B) lose my reserve because someone robbed the store, or C) get a defective system. And also D) Sony updates that HDTV downscaling crap.
Good luck to anyone camping out under the harsh conditions. I wish you well. incoming "I got my PS3 here are pics" posts coming up. How ya doing, buddy? |
Here's my nightmare:
So around 12pm today, i got to the place where i was going to wait in line (a small chain called GamePlay). I was 10th in line, which is okay i guess~ Around 5pm they get a call and the manager comes out and explains to everyone that they might not GET any PS3s for the launch... Thinking about how cold it was, and how hungry i was for some decent Soon Tofu i thought to myself- "Screw this"... And so i left the line. It was supposed to be a good day today... but... I'll get it later, it's not worth the trouble (there was almost a fight in line~). Good luck to anyone else and have fun gaming. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I'm starting to wonder if it's even worth the stress really. I keep trying to figure out stores I can go to that are sorta undermined in my area when it comes to things like these and all I could think of... was like... Sears.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Campers, stores are getting robbed of PS3s and money for PS3s all across america. As long as people aren't getting hurt, I'm loving it. Nothing like some nerd waiting outside for 3 days and not being able to get one.
Haha, suckers. I know, I'm an asshole. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Then there are the stories to come. If there are folks bold enough to rob stores for their stocks what's to stop them from following folks home and robbing them as they get out of their cars? If I were getting one I'd take an odd ass route back home; one that includes expressways and back alleys. The thing about it is that people only want it because it's new. I don't see any release games that reach out and grab my interest.
It's not worth the trouble to me, but it isn't my time, and it isn't my money. I was speaking idiomatically. |

well, I will enjoy putting my 2 cents in here. firstly, I would love to get the PS3, however, I also firmly believe that it's worth waiting for. I can see it now, some guy who's camped out for 3 weeks to get a game system. "Yeah! I got the first one!" congratulations, jackass, you wasted 3 weeks of your life to bar yourself away from life. and friends and family, because you're going to be facinated by a game system. now, don't take that to heart, cause I would buy one, just not right away. and there's another reason: Son'y history of Playstation first releases
to explain: when the playstation 1 first got released, the first 2 or 3 million units got recalled due to overheating caused by a faulty fan. the PS2 got released and recalled due to the battery wearing out quick. so really, what makes these first million units or so not going to have bugs in them? then these people who spent all the time waiting to get one, and going to be equally pissed off for "I spent all this money and I want quality" it's simple logic really. now, I'm not bashing the people on this, cause hey, everyone has their own path to follow, I don't judge. and I don't bash the system, hey it looks great and I would enjoy getting one myself, but I can wait on it too, especially when there are more needful things for my money right now, like completing the basement of my house so it can be enjoyed by our guests and ourselves, instead of just something for myself How ya doing, buddy? You know what? you just might be full enough of shit to apply for congress |
Not to mention the launch titles for the system don't look that great. I'll stick with the Wii until the PS3 bugs and price comes down.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
yeah, but the Wii apparently requires that you make larger movements, most hardcore gamers won't like that

Newspaper Article: 1 Shot in Conn. Playstation Waiting Line
in Putnam, Conn. Two armed thugs tried to rob of line of people waiting to buy the new Playstation 3 gaming console early Friday and shot one who refused to give up the money, authorities said. The two confronted a "bunch of people who were in line" outside a Wal-Mart store shortly after 3 a.m. and demanded money, said Lt. J. Paul Vance, a spokesman for the state police. The new Sony consoles are selling for around $500 to $600. "One of the patron's resisted. That patron was shot," Vance said. He said the two gunmen fled, and the victim was taken to University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester. There was no immediate word on the victim's condition. Vance said police were searching for the suspects. Short supplies of the PS3 and strong demand led to lines of buyers, some waiting for days, outside stores across the country. In Palmdale, Calif., authorities shut down a Super Wal-Mart after some shoppers got rowdy late Wednesday. In West Bend, Wis., a 19-year-old man was injured when he ran into a pole racing with 50 others for one of 10 spots outside a Wal-Mart. A Best Buy in Boston, aware it had only 140 of the consoles, got smart _ employees gave out tickets to the first 140 people in line so everyone could go home. I knew it was gonna only be a matter of time This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. You know what? you just might be full enough of shit to apply for congress |
Everything I've read states that mere flicks of the wrist are enough. They just don't look as fun. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Right now it's 30 minutes to 8 o'clock my time. I went to bed at 10 pm last night, got up about 30 minutes ago and feel great. I honestly don't think I could have had the same feeling sleeping out in the cold like it is in Canada. I wonder if right now those I saw yesterday in sleeping bags still have the same excitement as they had when they first started lining up. Man, such a long wait for them. =/
Well, I've NEVER slept on the streets for anything, and I just can't see myself doing it no matter if it's the Wii 3, Playstation 8, Xbox 1080, or whatever the hell it throws my way. But all I can say for sure is the hands on the clock in side the stores must be CRAWLING at the slowest pace possible. SOLDIER, that's the 20 GB one, FAIL. Ha! It's not like I didn't know, after talking to you before hand What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? - What we all do best -

Congrats Soldier, I'm anxious to hear your impressions, and others too for that matter. When you take a break sometime .__.
Seriously, almost every other forum is a bashing troll fest right now.

You were actually in that intense action packed deadly thrill ride of a crowd outside the store and lived to tell the tale? You must write a book. =o
