Quote:
Congrats on being right!
Spoiler:
Heh, I may be right on several accounts.

We now know that Eden is a mole. I predicted that. I also predicted that she'd be coming into contact with Isaac soon, as she knew Mohinder and Peter attempted to visit him.

We also know that Hiro travelled to the future to find Isaac dead, his skull hollowed out. The fact that Eden has now paid a visit to Isaac's studio pushes me back toward believing that Mr. Bennet is purified evil. Remember the gun: it was in Mohinder's desk and also seen at Isaac's apartment.

Either Eden is Sylar, or Mr. Bennet is. And it's starting to look like Mr. Bennet's the one everyone's after. He reacted quite oddly to the prophecy that Claire is the key to saving the world. I noted earlier that Sylar had a funny knack for turning up wherever another hero was involved in a plotline around the same time that Mr. Bennet was in the area. This is surely not coincidence. Mr. Bennet more closely fits the physical figure of the Sylar seen in Los Angeles.

The biggest clue to figuring out who Sylar is, however, is remembering the apartment. Eden didn't want Mohinder to enter right? She knew what was in there. During the initial investigation, she tried to play it off as a prank, even trying to crack jokes. ("A little light reading before bed, huh?") But when Mohinder discovered the secret chamber, she was forced to act. At some point, Eden had to have called Mr. Bennet and tipped him off. But it really doesn't seem like Eden would've been able to cleanse the apartment herself; she returned with Mohinder and the police.

We saw Sylar pretty much fly away from Matt Parkman in L.A.. And we've seen how fast Nathan Pitrelli can fly. If Sylar flies too, he may have been able to get to NYC in time to purge the apartment with telekinetic assistance and flee before the cops arrived. It's just a theory but it seems plausible enough.

But given that Mr. Bennet hangs around with super-powered people like the Unnamed Man who can erase memories, dollars to donuts that Eden's not just your ordinary girl.

As for Niki, well, she may not exactly be a "Hero", it would seem. Her alter-ego's rather cruel and manipulative. To what end, I have no idea but it doesn't make much sense for her to have set up D.L. like that. I do have a feeling that this "Linderman" guy will have a larger role in Niki's motives, though.

I honestly thought syler was after hiro

Spoiler:
when someone attacked the card game I was thinking it was syler until the end where niki revealed her master plan, and the evil niki was right in a way since dl tried to take the money and the kid.

I kind of find it wierd that hiro can be in a conversation in english in the desert but most of the time he doesn't understand any english at all.

I think it's more like Hiro's English extends as far as conversational English rather than actually being fluent in it, which Ando seems to be to a certain degree.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Spoiler:
Sure but when Hiro and Ando were cowering in the bathroom - and maybe you missed the line - someone yelled "Hey, who let her in here?" Immediately afterward, there was much violence and the resulting bloodbath.

It was momentarily confusing, but when D.L. had previously mentioned that he knew a woman had framed him, nothing else made sense but that it was Niki's alter-ego. So when the poker game was trashed by a woman, I really couldn't think of anyone else who'd be capable. Niki's alter-ego has shown itself to be pretty brutish.

On an unrelated note, executive producer, Tim Kring, in an interview, referred to Sylar as "he". So, smart money's on Mr. Bennet at this point.

Spoiler:
It must be the optimist in me, but I honestly believe Mr. Bennet could not possibly be Sylar in any way, shape, or form for various reasons.

1. Sylar seems to have one agenda on his mind: Absorbing the power of the heroes he comes in contact with, meaning that as soon as Mr. Bennet found out about Claire, Matt, and any other hero, he would have wasted no time in absorbing their powers.

2. In capturing Nathan, Mr. Bennet did not seem to want to harm him an any way. The gun, which with Sylar's powers would serve little to no purpose in having one, was probably used to make Nathan cooperate with whatever they had planned for him. I mean, Nathan is trying to deny his own power, so what good would trying to talk to him, saying that he's an important person in a bigger plan, when he doesn't want the power himself it seems?

3. When Eden told Bennet that Hiro told Peter "Save the cheerleader" she didn't tell him that he also said "save the world" so the way he reacted seemed to be either he knew Sylar would come after her -as a concerned parent- or he could have thought that they were going to try and save her from him...though I don't know why.

4. As for that gun showing up everywhere, well, perhaps it was all in self defense against Sylar. Maybe when Issac was killed in the future, Mr. Bennet or Eden could have tried shooting him, but failed in the attempt. That's an extreme guess though.

5. This ties in with number one...but why erase people's memories when you could just take their brain like Sylar does?

6. Once again, ties in with number two. Unless Matt IS a character in the future, then Mr. Bennet could have just flown after Nathan when he took off.

So there are a lot of reasons why Bennet could, and could not be Sylar. Though I kind of think Sylar is someone that tends to want to work alone, so why would he have 'agents' and a hero that can wipe a person's memory? Doesn't add up for Bennet to be Sylar IMO.

Late as always..

I uploaded episode 6
previous post

--
While Hiro and Ando were in the bathroom, you can hear one of the guys saying "Hey! who invited her?!"
Then the killing happened and you can hear high heeled shoes walking away.

And if you guys still follow the comics, Niki definitely has super strength (with her alter ego.) She ripped off a door of a safe with her fingertips. Yikes!

Each comic is like a follow-up of its correspondent episode.

*bumping the good ol' Heroes thread*

anyone notice that NBC redid their 2minute trailer to take out Eden standing behind Mr. Bennet?

original http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlTnibQD-5I
fixed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0L_pTszUknA

the remade version is on the NBC website now. Seems like they've been having issues with re-editing their stuff.
First they had to remove the garbage disposal scene because of the lawsuit.
2nd, I don't know if they notice that Simone had a booby slip while in bed with Peter...
3rd, this little trailer fix (maybe to make it a non spoiler for people who haven't seen Heroes yet)

You guys read Hiro's blog deal on the NBC page? It's pretty funny, but what I love most about it is the references to Chrono Trigger (ok, i admit that i'm a CT fanboy).

"The biggest question I have is am I a real hero? I cowardly hid while
someone was being killed. My fingers was on L1 + R1 the whole time. I know
a do-over is possible, but I also know it's risky to mess with the
time-space continuum. What makes a hero? I got these powers for a reason.
It's destiny."

"I can see Las Vegas again. \(^o^)/ But looks like I'm still a party of one, searching for my Lucca and Marle."

"P.S. I've ridden a nice limo. Check. Things to ride: Blackjack, Epoch, or a De Lorean going at 88 miles per hour."

-Epoch... awesome. Goddamn this show is cool, and to think that they're looking at CT as part of their inspiration... awesomeness.

Alright 3 things.

Spoiler:

1) So the kid has powers like everyone assumed he was going to get. But I don't really understand what his power is. Does he makes connections or something? Or is he Psychic too maybe?

2) Both the radioactive guy and the mind reader had the same symbols forming on their shoulders. Just not as complete as Niki's. Does this mean the more a heroe's power develops the more complete this symbol becomes? Sort of like a brand mark.. Or could it be a way for someone to track them? ;|

3) I'm guessing the radioactive guy is the nuke that goes off in New York. Maybe someone pisses him off or makes him go beserk. That or they do something to him that sets him off.

Edit: Also lol @ Hiro getting a blonde girl in preview.

Spoiler:
1) I think Micah's power has to do with either electricity or technology. It's most likely electrical though since all he had to do was touch the outside of the phone to fix its signal.

3) That line about how he could "explode like an atomic bomb" was a bit too obvious. I'm thinking that it's probably just a red herring for the audience rather than the actual cause. It IS spiffy that he's radioactive rather than just a pyrokinetic.

Weird, I didn't get the feeling of her cheating at all. I thought their relationship was just going bad cuz they both sucked at communicating with each other.

Yeah, the show has gotten a bit slower with last week's Niki/Jessica focus and this week's too.

You know, they keep talking about what a "hero" is. Especially with Hiro, but last time with Micah talking to his dad as well.

I think they are too involved in developing the story, and there are too many things going on right now, for them to actually develop this into a true "theme" however, and that's too bad. The show is great and I really enjoy it, but one of the things that made Spider-man so great was the conflict in the character between wanting to be a hero and wanting to be a normal person.

I'm not saying they're not touching on this, but they're only skimming the surface. I would like to see this theme development in-depth...

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I think you are missing the point of the show, somewhat.

This show really isn't about how people are turning into heroes, it's dealing with how people act and how others act when someone evolves to the next level so to speak.

It's showing how different people react to receiving supernatural gifts and how they use them in their lives. Hiro watches waaaay too much anime and plays too many video games, so he has his mindset that saving people and saving the world is the right thing to do with his powers

Niki allows her alter to take over to protect her son, nothing else it seems.

Everyone in this show is dealing with their newfound abilities in a different way, some think that it's cool, others think it's the next step, while the rest see themselves as perhaps some freakshow...and that's what the show's theme is revolving around, how people deal with their gifts.

At least that's what I think, I could be completely wrong :P

Further on the note of Matt:
Spoiler:
When Matt was trying to reveal that he could hear peoples' thoughts, he phrased it in such a way that his wife thought he'd found out about her affair and let serious hints slip out in her thoughts. He dropped the subject, realising that she was probably the one having an affair. See, when she was accusing him based on vague, circumstantial evidence, that was the first sign that she was cheating on him - cheaters often accuse their partner out of guilt. That's enough right there to build a solid case, and when Matt's cop buddy thought about how he was "nailin' [Matt's] wife", I can't see how there could be any other conclusion.

About Theodore Sprague:
Spoiler:
Hmm. His power involves high levels of Radiation... I'll have to add him to the list. It's more than hinted that his being irradiated was tied to his wife's cancer. I really want to know more about him.

About Micah:
Spoiler:
We all knew he was getting powers. It was pretty much just a matter of time. Apparently, his is electrical in nature, what with the "out of order" phone working again. Interesting that it failed to work once his father grabbed it from him.

I suppose it's no surprise that next week's episode is going to be the turning point episode of the season by far. Why must the episode preview be so tantalizing?

Anyways, tonight's episode was pretty good albeit a little predictable and missing the Niki/DL/Micah subplot.

Spoiler:
Okay, so what is Eden? I'm guessing she's another superpowered person, but what's her power? Is she some sort of "siren"? I noticed that they emphasized how she whispered into Isaac's ear and that calmed him down somewhat. She whispered in Mohinder's ear before he left, too.

Does Hiro realize the implications of what he's doing? He wants to save that girl, yes, but how will the future be altered? Does Sylar somehow switch focus from her to Claire? Or does he end up tracking her down and killing her regardless of whether or not she shows up at work?

Okay, the show keeps being wishy-washy on trying to paint Mr. Bennet as the bad guy or simply a guy involved in tracking down and "protecting" or "enhancing" people's powers. Tonight's episode would've singlehandedly convinced me that he was a "good guy" until he did that sigh after his speech about how Claire was in grave danger. Next week's episode might reveal more, I suppose.
