The News Channel is up for ALL REGIONS. Go go go! It's pretty nifty. Local news, international, technology, stuff. There's even pictures to go with the text sometimes, WOW take that 1950's society! The little cat from the Photo Channel also makes a return. =)

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Wow, I take back what I said. Nintendo has no problem reporting the ulgy side of news (suicide bombers, sniper shots, etc).

I also found the following piece of news so amusing, given the context of it all, that I just had to take a shot of it.

Spoiler:

I mean, that's just bizzare. :/

Oh and of course there's a 5 page story on the success of the Wii, but I won't hold that against them. Cool feature, overall. I'll be using it often.

Hmm if my BROTHER HADN'T GONE OVER OUR 12GB LIMIT AND CAPPED OUR INTERNET SPEED, I would've been hopping on the news channel, thus eliminating mum's criticism of us playing too much games and not being aware of the world around us. Ha!

Although the Weather Channel isn't regularly updated, I've find myself using it a hell of a lot. Not only that, spinning the globe is strangely addictive...

Rumors of the Firefox browser to be added to the Wii.

Maybe now I can actually see images that otherwise crash Opera (freaking stretching my ass)

Damn, they even added the "Hold your Wee for Wii" story. Props for the unbiased news reporting.

The only problem I have with the News Channel is the lack of an actual date for each story. All you have to go by is what the article itself says, and that's a little hard to discern when "yesterday" is the only clue. Other than that, I'm impressed by the large, varied number of stories they have up.

I would also like the ability to search for news by specific city/state, like with the weather channel.

By the way, what's the purpose of using SD cards? I plugged in my 1gb card that came with my camera (I love online deals), but all the system settings along with Zelda were saved in the Wii's internal memory. How many saved games can the internal memory hold (the Zelda box doesn't mention how many blocks of save/memory it requires)?

You can transfer save games to the SD card by using the Memory Management. Also, you can use it to import music songs in Excite Truck, although I haven't taken advantage of this.

http://www.wiinja.com doesn't seem to load. I'm guessing this is a mod chip.

I can't help but think it's fake with a second Wii actually loading the games from below away from view. All it takes is some good timing.

I'll need more proof than a shoddy youtube video. If they've cracked it already then bravo but I want proof.

It's not fake, but it doesn't kill the region issue. Basically it lets you play burned copies from your own region on your Wii.

There's more information about it here.

Is it normal for the wiimote's mic to sound cracky or cut off when the battery is low? Mine's doing that now, but there's only one bar of battery life down.

So is there a worldwide shortage of Wii Points cards or what? I went around shops today, starting at my local gamestore which usually had an awesome selection of rare games, as well as import games. No, the Wii Points of Aussie-ralia could only be bought in EB. So I go to EB and I ask the female employee there and at first, she reacts as if she doesn't know what it is.

"Er... Sorry mate there's like a worldwide shortage of points and stuff. Sorry!"

And then I go around to other EB stores and none of them have it! GAY! WHY EB ONLY! I go on Nintendo.com.au and THERE THEY ARE POLLING ABOUT VIRTUAL CONSOLE GAMES: HAVE YOU GOT THEM! Goddamnit.

Or I could use credit card... but I don't have one. Shame.

Anyone having a hard time finding Wii Point cards?

I have a question about the points for those who lives in the state. In the Q&A it says it will charage sales tax even when you use your credit card. Is that true? If so I rather go buy points card in MA because of the 5% tax than RI 7% tax. XD;

Yeah, I really hope they don't stay exclusive to EB here for too long. =\ The two times I've purchased cards went so well! "Can I get one of those points cards for the Wii?" "The what?" "The cards for the Wii's Virtual Console thing, they're sitting there behind you in the cabinet" ".. What? OH! How many points do you want?" "Just one 2000 card will do thanks" "I dunno if we have any 2000 ones left, let me check, so, gonna download some old games are you?" "Well yes.."

Dunno what the stock situation's like at my local one at the moment though. Pretty tempted to get one for Mario Kart 64. ;_;

Mine did that in Zelda, even with freshly charged batteries. When I'd cut grass and shit like a He-man lawnmower it'd just make a series of confusing static blasts. You might wanna turn the volume of the controllers speaker down a tad.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I have the volume on three bars, but it still cuts off. There's 2 bars left on the battery, so it should fix when I change it. At least I hope so; I'm hoping the wiimote's mic isn't easy to damage.

Also, I was wrong, you CAN search for news by state. It works just like the globe in the Weather Channel, but even cooler; seeing newspaper headlines stack up like that reminds me of Katamari.

Zelda has a problem with the speaker cutting in/out.

In my experience, it hasn't been a problem with other games, just Zelda.

I get charged $20 even for 2000 points.

Additional Spam:
EB Games and GameStop confirmed it removed from their system

Oooooookay...it still appears in most other retail stores, but this I just don't understand. Nintendo has been shafting EB and GameStop stores with Nintendo products as of lately.

Additional Spam:
Just found out a few things about the Mii Plaza:

Your Plaza can only have 100 Miis.
You can only have 10 favorites.
You can't move Miis to the Parade..so if you want new ones or other ones from the Parade, you have to just delete Miis from the Plaza.

Does it say anything about the parade (I probably hit the max by now).

it sucks though, I mean there are 3 digits, might as well delete the clones ive seen.

I saw a video of a 1,000 Mii parade...so it's at least 1,000.
