The new show is gonna be called Macross F (Frontier) and Is supposed to air in October. Original Work/Story Composition/Chief Director/Mechanical Designer: Shoji Kawamori (Macross, Aquarion, Arjuna) Director: Yasuhito Kikuchi (Aquarion) Series Composition: Hiroyuki Yoshino (Mai HiME, Code Geass) Character Design: Mikan Ehime* (Gravion Zwei, Prism Ark) /Yuuichi Takahashi (Aquarion episode animation direction) Animation Production: Satelight Yoko Kanno composer This is the appearantly the girl playing the new heroine: http://www.nakajimamegumi.com/index.html Apparently a 2 minute trailer was shown at the 25th anniversary concert which was held today. Well, thought I'd hunt around a bit....found a trailer (I think it's a trailer) for Macross F (Frontier) on the Bandai Channel. For some reason I can't access it (I keep getting this "Sorry, you cannot access the contents" message everytime I try to go in).
Anyway, maybe you guys will have better luck. Follow the link below and click on the link in the middle of the page. You'll be at the Bandai Channel web page and will see all sorts of anime trailers you can watch (supposedly). The first slot with 『マクロスF(フロンティア)』 and a mugshot of a blonde girl is the Macross F trailer (again, supposedly. It just didn't work for me, neither of the bandwidth choices got me anywhere....) Bandai Channel News - Macross 25th Anniversary  This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

This show has a lot of potential just by looking at the trailer. I'll definately watch this whenever it comes out. Thanks for the vid, zukan.

Wow, whoever mentioned the show having a Macross 7 feel was pretty much on the money (oh, it was Tokubetsu). In the beginning of that trailer you can see colony ships so I guess this where Frontier takes place. The main colony ship is a clam-shell colony, pretty much exactly the same as City 7 (from Macross 7). You can see it leading all the other vessels in the beginning.
Despite the poor quality of the video, what I saw was enough to get me excited about seeing this show. The action sequences look pretty cool and I hope there will be plenty of 'em!  Looks good and hopefully it will be awesome!!!! What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Episode 1 of Macross Frontier is out by Seiyan fansubs.
So far I think this will be a pretty good series for the Macross line. It's always interesting to know how the future will progress for past series. And it looks like it'll be a good progression at that. The animation reminds me a lot of Macross Zero when it comes to battles. But the main animation used for regular character interaction seems pretty much like every other anime out there. Spoiler:

Just saw the shinsen subs. It got off with a pretty good start. The visuals were spot on, very detailed with impressive animations (during space battles). Music sounds like it took a trip back to Macross Plus, as expected. Looking forward to see the rest of this show.

Awesome! I just watched the subs from Shinsen as well. So far, the series is everything I was hoping for. I know it's just the first episode, but I got a really good feeling so far, like this is gonna be an excellent show.

Anyone have any idea what happened to episode 2? I don't even see a raw out for it yet, let alone any fansubs. Some kind of holiday? Or was episode 1 merely a preview and the actual series airs at a later date?
Any info would be appreciated if you have it.  I was speaking idiomatically.
