I think WWE is starting to push both the Women's division and the Crusierweight division on both of its main shows. CW used to be something that you really only saw on Velocity, but now ya got Helms defending the title almost on a weekly basis...and hes got some good opposition....Kash, Noble, ..

Up until about 2-3 years ago, I watched WWE regularly from about 1998 on. I'm a bit older, though, so I grew up with WWF in the late 80s and early 90s.

So, imagine my surprise while I'm looking through, er, I think Yahoo! and I see the words "Saturday Night's Main Event". I had to do a double take and look it up on NBC to make sure I was seeing things correctlly.

SNME was, basically, the important event for me, my family, and my friends during its airings on NBC. It was the show to watch, being that Monday Night RAW hadn't even been invented yet -- about the only other show was the syndicated Superstars which aired in most places on Saturday afternoon and gave you Tito Santana vs. No Name Guy or Junkyard Dog. And remember that even until a few years ago, the PPVs did little to advance stories, they were more the end or apex of storylines that the side shows developed. SNME was where the PPVs grew.

It was basically the show that led to Hulk Hogan finally losing the title to the Ultimate Warrior when they got in a fight while fighting against The Genius and Mr. Perfect. I don't remember a lot of things as vividly as that from my childhood, my friends and I must have watched that match 10 times before seeing that great Wrestlemania match which made everyone a fan of wrestling.

This event may just bring me back to wrestling. I'm definitely going to have a look see.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Mickie's turn was well done. SNME has been great. Hopefully this keeps up.

It's unfortunate that SNME had poor ratings. I hope this does not discourage NBC from doing this again. It was fun, entertaining, and promoted the WWE product very well.

The classic opening was pretty much what sold the show for me.

I think they should have SNME during a better month. It sucks to have it in March because it's so close to Wrestlemania that you already know that absolutely no titles will change hands.

That's just my two cents.

Its like his call sign to Shane...kind of like when they say The Game Triple H...we know hes the game but just keep repeating it anyway. I guess it has a kind of nice ring to it.

Well it only works when coming from Vince himself. I dont think Joey Styles hyping up a match for Shane by going..."John Cena goes one on one with My Son Shane at Wrestlemania". ...it wouldnt make sense...unless Joey had a son named Shane...who was competing at Wrestlemania. Now..."John Cena goes one on one with The Game at Mania"...people would know who you mean. Its a good catchname for Shane...but only when used from Vince. Or maybe Linda.

I enjoyed that candid moment on RAW with Triple H, Shane and Vince all doing the promo and Vince hugging them and saying "Like one big happy family"...if that wasnt an inside joke (but truthful joke) I dont know what is.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Because Styles doesn't really get a chance to mention all the facts.

Spoiler:
But did anyone notice that McMahon's writers suck? HHH and Shane have tagged twice before last nights raw

It truly is amazing the difference between the annoucing quality on SNME with Jim Ross and yesterday's Raw.

Getting rid of Ross was probably the biggest mistake of 2005 in the WWE.

The biggest mistake WWE made was getting rid of their true heads/heels (read: DX, Austin, Rock, etc) and replacing them with mediocre substitutes. Not that these substitues are bad wrestlers/actors or lack talent in any way, but they're more mid-tier than top superstars. Wrestlers such as RVD, JBL, Big Show, Kane, etc. are more fit to complement, not replace, the true top-tier talents.

Especially RVD. I know he's a head, but I can't help but hate his self-promoting attitude. I mean, quit pointing your thumbs at yourself, I know your name already. Ugh. Anybody else feel this way, or am I just being a hater?

I think you're alone on the RVD thumb pointing thing.

To tell RVD not to do that is like telling The Rock not to do the People's eyebrow.

Double Post:
Anyway, some could point out examples of huge mistakes made by the WWE, such as losing the Dudley Boyz, Christian, Haas (just to later re-sign him) and probably several other company mistakes.

However, none of those changed the face of WWE like "firing" J.R. Probably the most short sighted move by the WWE in a long time.

How ya doing, buddy?

WWE Mistakes

--Cutting down the Tag Team Divison
--Never bringing back Hardcore title
--Not letting Cena go heel
--Losing Matt Morgan
--Firing Mordecai
--Not letting Sean O'Haire become a bigger star and holding him back (I don't remember alot from 05)
--The tasteless killing off of Paul Bearer
--HHH getting at least a total of 600+ hours of air time.

Good WWE Moves
--ECW One Night Stand
--Not Firing RVD because of his injury
--Allowing Christian to leave so I can watch him be a bigger star on TNA, same with Rhyno

I agree on the tag team thing...WWE just was hoping to split up tag teams and find great singles guys in the mix. I still think Shelton Benjamin was better as TWGTT...he might not of had as much exposure..but it was a great team.

I miss the hardcore title, I think it was a matter of brand dispute though. Which side would have it? Raw or Smackdown? I think they thought about it and figured it was easier just to drop the title completly. I think it would of been great as a interbrand championship.

Cena was a heel...and he had some of his funniest promo's when doing it. His raps on Brock Lesner actually made me think Cena was better at entertaining then Brock...I remember one line being...something about Brock Lesners tattoo being his mother on his back..lol.

Matt Morgan was good...without the stuttering gimmick....he was pretty high impact...although I most remember him v.s Shannon Moore...talk about squash matches.

I dont remember Mordecai too much...I just recall that he had some nifty promos and then he beat Scotty 2 Hottie.....wow.

Sean Ohaire IS a great athlete. WWE wanted to push him as a big guy instead of letting him perform at his best. I recall WWE not letting him use his Seanton Bomb (swanton bomb) because it took away from Jeff Hardys. How lame.

I like HHH and I like his promos. I do not like when he has very long ones. I also am quite sick of him being in 56 contract signings per year. So hes good...in moderation. Gotta give him credit though...he can deliver a hell of a promo....well that is when tehy are different..most are the same anymore.

Double Post:
Oh yeah and Test is back now. Which I think is good...I always thought he was pretty impressive for as big as he is. Just keep him away from Stacy Keilber and the lame testicle gimmick.
