I don't even know if the usb to ethernet adapter is even out yet. Probably should check their website.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

It isn't, but there's an unofficial one I heard of. Oh, here it is:

Quote:
Someone on the Nsider forums discovered a working USB Ethernet adapter for those who wish to use a Wired Connection rather than a Wireless one. The adapter is a: KINAMAX USB 2.0 to RJ45 Fast Ethernet 10/100 Base-T Network Adapter which can be founded at newegg.com for roughly $20-25. Read more for the video!
Video's here, watching now.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

wow, my freind just got one of the less than 1% of Wii's that gets the 110213 error code after updating in which you will never be able to access the internet. Nintendo is replacing it free of charge within a few days which is awsome on their part but wow, what bad luck.

I guess its gotta happen to somebody though.

The good news is that if you get this error, you can still play your, games, you just cant update or access the internet thereafter.

I just got Super Swing Golf today and it is very fun. The only thing is that I'm having a bit of trouble with the ball trajectory. The ball keeps curving to the right. I have no idea what to do to fix this. I tried moving the sensor bar around to different places but that didn't work. Is there a solution to this?

I was speaking idiomatically.

Good News for Infernal Monkey!

FREELOADER!

Quote:
Datel is planning to release a Wii version of Freeloader, an accessory that allows you to play imported games! This is great news for those who were looking forward to region-free access on the Wii and to be able to play Japanese games that won’t see a day in the light in the Americas/Europe.

Does this apply to Wii games only, or will they make a PAL Freeloader which allows imported Gamecube games to work on PAL Wii's?

Because, you know, the PAL Wii doesn't support the 1.06b Freeloader. I've just tried it and I can confirm.

Edit: Oh, apparently they made a new Freeloader and released it somewhere early December. I'll have to pick that up.

The "sensor" bar shouldn't affect anything like that unless you have to actually point at the screen after you swing. Remember, that thing's just 2 lights, it doesn't actually know where your remote is unless the remote's IR sensor is aimed at it.

I heard you have to swing perfectly perpendicular to the ground at the lowest point in order for there to be no curve.

It should be based on the remote's built-in balance sensor.

As the link was obviously French, and I'm curious otherwise... does this mean that there could possibly a Freeloader for the NTSC Wii consoles that allow us to play Wii AND Gamecube games region free, or just one or the other?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Yeah I don't understand this myself. If this is for Wii games, FUCKING AWESOME. If it's for Gamecube games, well, that's still awesome because now I'm in the hunt for a new Freeloader which is compatible with the PAL Wii. I've looked around but places aren't saying if they work with PAL Wiis or not.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I'm sure they'll have one compatible for GC games....SOMEONE out there is bound to try to make your Gamecube obsolete.

Slicing maybe? Would the game register slices?

Anyways, Wii games in the US, what to get first, since my financial resources are rather tight right now. Zelda: Twilight Princess is a given. Now, one more game after that.

I'm considering Excite Truck, Red Steel, or Super Monkey Ball. Opinions? Thoughts? Suggestions? Other games possibly?

On Red Steel, I do like the controls. The graphics aren't the greatest, and your arm goes into awkward positions, but I do like the controls (at least for shooting). :/ I guess I just got used to it. Sword-fighting on the other hand... meh.

Just got Elebits today too. <3 Highly recommend!

Trauma Center! Otherwise, Elebits seems to be the other must-have title. Second Opinion is much much better than the first one, I can guarantee it.

You were right. I wasn't swinging exactly perpendicular to the ground during the lowest point. I also found some help by reading the instruction booklet. I didn't notice that in the back it has a Q&A section and it says that if the ball is deviating toward the right to twist the wiimote a little toward the left. Both of these things fixed my problem. Thanks Jazz!

Oh man I'm having endless drama with the Wii. The problem's just getting worse somehow in the menu, and Wii Play is now completely unplayable. The store won't give me an exchange or a refund, telling me it's up to Nintendo.

Nintendo Australia will charge me for postage, and their fee to look at it (even if they actually discover it's fucked, I have to pay them). So there's about another $90 there. Not only that but they don't refund Wii Points if a new machine is sent back unlike America. That's $60 gone there. This is fucking stupid and I'm pretty sure something or everything here is illegal. What the hell is the point of a warranty then. I need to get our drunk consumer affairs into exciting drunk action.

$400 wasted? Seems so!

How ya doing, buddy?

Mine seemed like it was on the verge of doing what yours is doing right now, but I did a full system format at the sacrifice of a few saves, then added a few people in Address Book until their names blacked out and everything seemed fine.

I would assume you've already tried the system format though. I'm not really too sure what you could do at this point, but that is pretty ridiculous. Just keep them on until they relent and actually do what the American counterpart does. If anything, you paid $400 to be able to bitch them out to your heart's content, so go for it.

That completely sucks. From what I've read thus far, I've found out a few things about the Australian Nintendo branch.

- Your PR guy is a blithering idiot.
- You have a 12 month warranty on your system, quite nice.
- None of the information on their site explicitly states that they will not transfer your points to the new console, which you should most definitely point out.
- I see this little gem '"Otherwise, we provide the Wii Network Service and any Content, Points or Products, without express or implied warranty, undertaking, inducement or representation of any kind. This means that Nintendo does not guarantee that the Wii Network Service will always work properly or that it will be free from viruses, hacks or other harmful intrusions." in the network service warranty. Again, no explicit wording that upon warranty invoking, no points will be transfered to the new system.

Call them up, and stay on their asses until they help you.

Just to be absolutely sure it is the actual system, do anyone with a Wii by chance live nearby (peeack?), so that you can try using it on another setup?

It sucks so very much that everyone outside the US must always be screwed over

This flicky business in menus I had temporarily while a game was loading - maybe your Wii's trying to load something?

I think it was trying to read a GC disc, anyway. It read it, but in the process of doing so moving the Wii remote over different buttons it flickered all over the place. It isn't doing it anymore though, which is a good thing.

Trauma Centre, Zelda, and Rayman are the only games worth getting in my opinion. I had fun with Super Monkey Ball for a good thirty minutes and haven't touched it since.

Nintendo of Australia are notorious for being complete asshats compared to other branches.

Thats why I'm importing this time around. To hell with having to wait till March for Excite Truck/Budokai. Trauma Center is not coming out here full stop and Fire Emblem will take at least 6 months before we see it. I'm just going to import. Hell, importing is $30 cheaper than buying them off the shelf.

I'm surprised anyone buys from them in that case, though I can imagine finding a console online would be tricky unless you have a friend in the specific area you want to buy the console in. If they're cheaper, then all the more reason. Sucks for the people who are having problems now. I guess no company is completely immune to launch problems anymore.

Hmm, I was told over the phone that they don't. But who knows, the guy I was talking to didn't really know what I was even talking about "ARE YOU SURE YOU READ THE MANUAL? THAT CAN HELP" "Yes, yes, I've read the manual" "IT HAS A TROUBLESHOOTING SECTION!" "I know it does!"

Yeah, I've taken it over to a friends place to compare it with his (haha comparing wii's hahalolol). Tried his sensor bar, Wii controller and everything on my machine, but still had the same problems. His was fine. ;_;

It looks like PAL Wii consoles will be able to play imported GC games after all. GOOD STUFF. Now I can turn around and keep in mind the jap Sonic Mega Collection I saw somewhere. Apparently it has Streets of Rage 1, 2, and 3, which were taken out of the US and PAL versions.

Ok, 2 rather plain questions. Does uh, the Wavebird work on the Wii? It only makes sense to get one since everything else is wireless. And can you transfer GC game saves to an SD card and run? It'd be better than having to use the memory card slots all the time.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
