Alpha Protocol, Mice Heist (which was given to me by the developers for saying it should be called "Mouse Porno"), 3D Dot Game Heroes, and Killzone 2. I will add a screen at some point.

Alpha Protocol is not Mass Effect, but I think it's getting slammed a bit too much. It's a decent game.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Let us know what the new machine is like (and how easy it is to transfer your shit onto) as I'm somewhat tempted to pick one up when the land over here next month.

Yeah about that. It helps that we had two 360s already and he had a memory card to transfer all of his saves and what not onto my HDD (FFXIII's) and will buy a usb cable or this later on that will make things easy to transfer stuff. The slim does not support a memory card port. I think.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

On the other-hand, it does support loading stuff onto a USB flash drive to transfer data over

I've never even heard of those before. A friend of mine's XBox Arcade took a shit on him (big surprise): Will this cable allow him to transfer data from one hard drive to another, directly? Or will he have to go from HDD->Mem Card->HDD?

I was speaking idiomatically.

Yeah, that's what I did. Since the slim doesn't take Memory cards and I don't actually own a USB flash drive, what I did was move everything on to Philia's system (which is now sporting my old FFXIII-branded 250 gig HDD ;_ so I could dump the memory card for the trade-in (and I wouldn't need it anyway since we'd only have one system). Then I bummed a USB flash drive for a few minutes off of Kyndig to move my stuff off her system onto the new one and done.

I've never even heard of those before. A friend of mine's XBox Arcade took a shit on him (big surprise): Will this cable allow him to transfer data from one hard drive to another, directly? Or will he have to go from HDD->Mem Card->HDD?
You can transfer directly; you plug the old HDD into this cable thing, then that goes into the new system via USB. You then run a program off a disc and it basically wipes anything on the destination HDD, and completely transfers everything off your old HDD as well as wiping it at the same time (to avoid copying data I guess). Keep in mind there are a few game saves that cannot be transferred, I think the big one is the first Viva Pinata and there's one other game.

I don't really have any way of confirming it, but supposedly these new systems have the software built in, but you still need the cable. Wouldn't help me in this case though because you have to trade in the HDD to get the new system

I really want to know how quiet they are compare to the last model.
I'll check it out in a minute, but first reports I'm seeing from people is that it runs way way quieter.

Additional Spam:
Edit: At first impression it's waaaaaaaaay quieter. It wasn't as much of an issue for me since I was installing game for the most part, but I was just running ODST non-installed and it was almost completely quiet. I could still hear the fan if I was right up on the system but it wasn't even terrible then. On a couch a few feet away I doubt you'd hear anything even if you tried.

Protocol has indeed some nice ideas, but the execution is sloppy. I'm enjoying it though, but it can get tedious.

Frustrating on rookie, though. Man, going full on stealth can be rough.

Another huge Steam sale going on.

So far, just the Overlord package for $4.50. I've been eternally curious about this game since I saw it at Gamestop and getting both games and the first expansion for about $10 less than buying a used copy for the 360, I figured it was worth it...

Even if my computer might not be able to run it. Yes, I checked Can You Run It already, but they said I couldn't run The Sims 3 either and that ran fine.

Finished paying on Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Picked up Lego Harry Potter for PSP (wish I had waited and got the PS3 version) and some hack n' slash dungeon crawler called Warriors of the Lost Empire on PSP.

Toying about preordering the new Fist of the North Star game coming out by Koei. It looks really good.

Just bought Hydro Thunder Hurricane (XBLA). This game is awesome! Feels just like the original arcade one (iirc), and crazy shortcuts abound.

I'll be buying Limbo soon as well. The combination of the unique visual style, puzzle-based gameplay, and surprisingly gruesome deaths is too much to pass up.

I love Summer of Arcade.

Latest music rips (updated January 10, 2012):

SimCity DS - Jazz/ambient/electronic music including interesting reworkings of songs from the fantastic SimCity 3000 soundtrack
Cold Winter Original Game Music Score - Really cool; dark, full, emotional strings mixed with drums, piano, choir. Kind of like Furious Angels?

Impulse bought the new slim 250 gig slim 360 at Dell. It was $320 for it and the new Madden, which I wasn't sure I entirely wanted. Haven't played Madden really since '02 and since I'm a Buffalo fan and they are finding new levels of suck to explore these days it makes the game a little less appealing. However, there was also the bing 20% cash back deal. So jumped and effectively picked up the new 360 and Madden '11 for $240 before tax. Well within my tolerance for picking up the new box and now I can waste all sorts of money on XBLA downloads.

Also recently started exploring Soma Bringer for the DS which is quite snazzy, shame it never got picked up, and utterly wasted my weekend on Jump Ultimate Stars.

Recently picked up Super Mario Galaxy 2. Really enjoying it. I hope I actually FINISH it this time. I have a horrible habit of playing and stopping games, usually at the water temple =p

Also had to buy a new Xbox 360 due to the 2 that we had RRoD'ing within days of one another. It came with Banjo-Kazooie and Viva Pinata. I like Banjo-Kazooie because it reminds me of the gummy ships in Kingdom Hearts. I spent hours just building a decent/fun ship and as I get more parts in Banjo, plan on doing the same.

Viva Pinata, on the other hand, is way too freaky for me. Everything was going fine until the bird pinata ate the worm pinata that I had named and made my own. So I doubt I'll be playing that anytime soon =P

After a whole day of calls and driving around, I finally got a hold of a copy of Bladestorm: The Hunderd Years War for PS3. I decided to look for it after downloading the demo and being riveted to my controller for the whole morning yesterday. I didn't expect it to be that hard to find.

Yeah, Bladestorm is one of the harder to find PS3 games, which is why even used copies are still pretty expensive (I don't think I've personally ever seen one for less than $30). It's a pretty fun (and slightly underrated) game that's worth it if you're into that type of game though, so it's definitely worth the price. I haven't played much of it myself, but it's probably my sister's favorite PS3 game to date.

Just bought a couple of XBox360 games through Best Buy.com, each on sale for $19.99. First off, Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing which I've been wanting to go down to $20 for quite some time. The other one I had no intention of getting originally, but the deal was just too good to pass up: Bayonetta.
