Shame that it's set to level 50 too ._. Oh yeah, I second the idea of a single-type theme for a tournament. Just dunno what type I'd use, lol. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. WALK WITH THE DREAMERS,

Oh, I was unaware that signups had started, I was gone since thursday.
I'll just wait until some other time, I'm busy all week up until next monday. I was speaking idiomatically. WALK WITH THE DREAMERS,

Sheesh...from what we've been saying in the other thread, you'd think they would be smart enough to ban Wobbuffet (sp?) too. I could see some cheapskate bringing a team of four of those.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() ![]() |
Yeah, but all you need are three pokemon (or even one pokemon) to counter wobuffett.
A dark type is immune to mirror coat. A ghost type is immune to counter. Spiritomb is immune to both, however, I doubt anyone who sees a spirittomb coming when they have their Wobuffett out will stay for long. Most amazing jew boots WALK WITH THE DREAMERS,

Nintendo held an official tournament here with similar rules, only difference was it was singles instead of doubles. Wobbuffetts didn't dominate, neither did Lat@s (Soul Dew is disabled in Battle Tower, you can equip it but it does nothing) so just train your Pokémon and have fun. Build a team around either Abormasnow or Hippowdon if you want a chance at winning. THe only thing I'm confused about looking at the banned list is Heatran. Heatran is eligable for Battle Tower and link matchs. And it's not like he's any good either. Also Wobbuffet fucking sucks anyway. Even the morons at Smogon have seen fit to unban him. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Might anyone have a Shroomish or Breloom to trade, preferably male (but doesn't have to be)?
I apparently haven't seen a Shroomish yet and the only deals for a Breloom on the GTS are either silly or stupid. I've come to expect that from there lately. I know Shroomish can show up in the Great Marsh, but they don't today. Just seeing if someone might have one already to save me the trouble of waiting for them to turn up. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() ![]()

Jo, I can breed you one. Again, just tell me a time and bring a Bidoof with you.

@DarkMageOzzie - Good fucking game man =D
Considering it was a test match to see if your connection held up. Which it did! I like how my Spinda actually managed to flail its way to nearly two KOs .Damn your Raichu's surprise quick attack! I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |

Well, it looks like they've revealed Shaymin's second form. It's not all that, looks like a white Chikorita/Bulbasaur crossed with Quilava. All that's left now is Regigigas' Sky form. After that? Probably just new screens revealed periodically.
![]() How ya doing, buddy? ![]() The text is part of the image and the two squires aren't exactly even.

Link. Some other link. FELIPE NO |
Thanks for the heads up, IC. Now I've got my eyes open for the real one (if it's going to be revealed any time soon, that is).

After not touching this game for a whole year I'm finally completing it. The game seems a bit unbalanced at the point I'm at. I fight every trainer I come across and for awhile I was higher leveled than all the trainers and gym leaders. But now that up to badge 6 it seems like my pokemon are slowly becoming underleveled. I can still win fine, it's just that I'm worried that at the slow rate I'm leveling up now if I'll be ready for the elite 4 and the final battle with Cynthia and her level 70 pokemon. ;_; I'm raising 6 pokemon evenly and they're all around level 32/33. Do you guys usally just focus on leveling just 3 or 4 pokemon or am I just rushing ahead too fast?
I guess I could go back and explore all those new areas with my surf ability. Most amazing jew boots |
You don't necessarily have to go back and do other things. Victory Road and a Lucky Egg can do wonders (if you need a Lucky Egg, I'd be happy to oblige). Hell, back in the day, when I was playing Blue and Gold for the first time, I only focused on one pokemon each. You could use that strategy if you really needed to, but three or four works perfectly fine.
However, shuffling between six different pokemon evenly isn't terribly efficient unless you're dedicating a lot of time to leveling or you can power-level by running through the Elite 4. Otherwise, it's best to have two or three as your go-to guys and three or four as backup. Let's see, good pokemon to have your team revolve around are... any of the starters, Lucario, Staravia, Hippowdon, or Garchomp if you have him or want to dedicate the time to evolving Gible into one. If you need any pokemon or items to help, just say the word. There's nowhere I can't reach.

Lucky egg... Kairyu mentioned that too. I'll take one I guess. No idea what it does though.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Lucky Eggs allow a Pokemon who holds it to gain 1.5 times the experience it normally would.
Definitely cuts down on the grinding time. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |

Just captured my first Shiny Pokemon while EV training my SP ATK - A Shiny Gastly, which is exactly what I said I was looking for in one of my last posts in this thread. Heh, I was watching TV and playing at the same time, so I'm lucky I was looking at the screen at the time. Also lucky it was a low level, which only took about 4 or 5 Ultra Balls. I kinda wish it were red or something since it doesn't look too noticable, but oh well.
EDIT: First shiny aside from Red Gyarados. Which also brings up a few questions: 1. Is there a list out there that tells what colors each shiny pokemon is like? I know Wikipedia used to have it before they merged all of the Pokemon onto single pages. 2. How would one go about getting shiny Charmanders, Squirtles, etc if they're all starter Pokemon and not wild? I just saw a pic of a Shiny Charizard, and I want it. 3. Similar to #2, how would one go about getting something such as a Shiny Ho-Oh or Mewtwo? Constantly walking up to it and starting the battle, or is it determined whether it be shiny or not the moment you first start your file? What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() SSBB: 0602-5947-4393 ("SX") PM me if you add.

1. No list as far as I know but going to any pokemon fan site that has a pokedex section will tell you that info. Marriland.com and Serebii.net are usually my top choices for pokemon info in general. 2. I don't think you can unless you hatch it from eggs over 5000 times. Or whatever the odds of running into one is. 3. Yep, I hear you can eventually run into a shiny version of them by repeatedly walking up to them (and resetting if it's not shiny.) Otherwise most sane people just use a AR to get shiny legendary pokemon. No one's gonna believe you caught a shiny version of Dialga anyway .Most amazing jew boots

But... but I caught a shiny Giratina! It took some time, but I did it. What no one would believe is you catching a shiny Latias/Latios from Ruby and Sapphire, since I guess those are determined at the start of a new file (meaning you couldn't find out if they were shiny or not until you encountered them, way late into the game).
Marriland lets you see the sprites for all pokemon, including shiny forms. I thiiink Serebii has shiny colors listed on there somewhere. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Serebii has the Shiny version of each sprite alongside the original versions. An example, if you like. :3
As for getting Shiny starters, I think the only way is to breed them, and get really lucky. I got incredibly lucky the other day and hatched a Shiny Riolu, and now I have myself a pretty Lucario. ![]() A question on breeding Shiny stuff, though. Does using a Shiny [or two] Pokemon in the breeding process increase the chances of the egg hatching as a Shiny, or are the odds the same as breeding normal Pokemon? How ya doing, buddy? |
Odds are always the same, so don't bother trying to breed shinies to increase the likelihood.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Bleh. It turns out my Gastly might have bad IVs. Even though it's still a low level, thus calcs are less accurate, I did notice it had less Sp Atk than the other Gastly's I've caught. >_<
Just how much of a difference do IVs make? I really want to train this Shiny Gastly when Platinum comes out, but I don't want to train it if it will be weak. :x This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() SSBB: 0602-5947-4393 ("SX") PM me if you add.
