Nobody with any reasonable sense is buying the car bombing angle to any degree. It's the kind of shit that blurs the line between reality and the "show" itself, which does not help the business.
In other news, the only way the angle is going to pay off at ALL is if they make a returning Triple H the culprit. "I MARRIED HIS DAUGHTER, KILLED HIM, AND TOOK OVER THE BUSINESS" Which basically now amounts to publicizing the actual HHH/Stephanie relationship, and turning Triple H into a "Kingpin" (lol king of kings) where you find Stephanie torn between her husband, child, and her father. Shane now wants nothing more than pure revenge for it happening by claiming Smackdown and ECW as his own and pitting them against Triple H's RAW brand. Then of course leading into Wrestlemania, Shane will finally get the best of Triple H leading to them squaring off where Shane will demand a handicap match against Triple H. Triple H will lawl and accept, and of course, the mystery partner will be none other than Vince McMahon himself. It'll be explained that the door on the OTHER SIDE was opened (as seen in the footage) and he survived the bombing, and bided his time waiting for the opportunity to get revenge. Shane and Vince will defeat Triple H with additional help from a now stable Stephanie McMahon who turns on Triple H, and Vince will make a spiel about how proud he is of Shane for standing up for what he built, and will hand the company over to Shane. Stephanie will "leave" Triple H on-air, and Vince will then permanently leave the on-air spotlight. Passing the torch, compelling story, holy shit surprises, and a kickass ending that doesn't involve more bombs and death. This is what is required, all else will fail. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
The thing with Sherri was they showed a brief "In Memory" snippet for about 10 seconds, then about 3 lines from JR during the diva match and even before that match started, they went back to hyping the McMahon death angle in their sad tones. I dunno...I think that was poor taste, albeit indirectly. I mean, Sherri was fucking classic and deserved more of a mention.
I agree with Kostaki: this thing is going to come back to HHH. I thought "DX" as soon as I saw Vince go into the limo. With Michaels out, I can see this generating some cool heat (especially the way they played up Stephanie tonight). I'm all for it if it means indirectly getting the belt off Cena and onto someone I can stand to watch. Overall, I'm liking the novelty of this angle...Of course, I like the fact that the crowd and the audience is so NOT sold on it, despite all of the gimmickery. It's a different atmosphere. First great spot from Crime Tyme tonight too... This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Trips would be the best to fill the role. I mean, remember the Austin thing? Same deal.
DX itself is not the best to fill this role. Yes, they did tricks and such, but something like this isn't DX's style...it's Trips. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Kostaki I like that story you made up. Now if only the writers would do that. As for Raw last night it was too boring. Not enough matches and too much of the federal investigator for my liking.

Yeah, that would have been like TNA doing a thing for Eddie when he died. They just gave him a short "In memory" thing and that was it.
Then again I guess it is two huge different things What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
Not quite sure if this is spoiler but whatever...

Well, the reason for the Limo angle is revealed.
Apparently USA is putting pressure on the WWE to make a return to the Attitude Era, and this angle is WWE's attempt to initiate that change. Just a shame they couldn't come up with a better angle to kickstart things. I mean, look at what started the first Attitude Era, the Austin 3:16 speech was classic and to this day is still infamous. It was believable, and Stone Cold was a perfect poster boy for the era. A limo exploding and a whole crapload of illegitimate "FBI" investigations is not a good way to bring the edge back. Also, listen to this shit: "On June 11, 2007, the unimaginable occurred when Mr. McMahon's limo exploded as he left Raw’s McMahon Appreciation Night leaving the question: WHO DID IT? As we continue to mourn this sudden lost suspicions are arising. Everyone knows Mr. McMahon had a multitude of enemies, maybe it was YOU! Confess your hand in this heinous act by owning the I DID IT T-shirt today! Black. 100% cotton. Screen-printed in the USA. Imported." WWE continues to show it's grace and tact in this angle. Stephanie must be losing her mind over it [/sarcasm] There's nowhere I can't reach. If there is evil in this world, it lies within the hearts of mankind.

lol is that a sign that the WWE is dropping in ratings?
WWE: Cena will have title match against entire roster, slap all in STFU and win. USA: Oh hell no, Cena MUST LOSE THE TITLE, make it happen or get the fuck off our channel. And fix Austins neck, and why the hell is the ROCK shooting MOVIES?? WWE: ![]()
No just kidding. I agree with the not changing anything but being asshole in light of someone deaths just because "they're dead, I'm alive so it doesn't matter" can be kept to oneself. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Good news...The Attitude era was the golden era of wrestling for me. The business has been downright lethargic for the past 6 years or so. The atmosphere during the whole Austin/McMahon angle was electrifyingly must-see TV and I'm all for a return to that (with new faces, of course). I mean, I wouldn't mind Cena if he would go out there and do something to make me like him, instead of being the silly "good guy" poser that he is. I mean, geez...He's the PERFECT fucking heel. Everyone already hates him! But they need guys to act like they're good and pissed off and have motivation to fight each other. And get guys like Mark Henry and Khali off the show for people with actual mic skills and that can put on a great 20 minute match. Right now, it really looks like they're working night shifts instead of having creative and compelling feuds/matches.
I really want to see Benoit/Punk and Edge/Batista. Those are going to be awesome matches and I really can't predict a winner. I only care about the other one if Cena loses. I think I said before, but I'll say again...Edge may be the best thing to happen to wrestling in years. He's just really taken off (much like the Rock did, but his growth from midcarder to main eventer was much more natural). Kennedy hopefully isn't too far behind. Most amazing jew boots

I remember the crazy parts of the attitude era. Like at I think it was Survivor Series 2000 with the Austin getting hit angle. Then they sprang that it was Rikishi (to turn him into a heel...for about 2 weeks) and HHH was the ringleader.

Nah, getting run over is old hat (see above). The highlight of Attitude era was the eight month period from when Vince (at the height of his Austin hatred and his "Corporation" stable) screwed Austin out of the title, fired him and it culminated at St. Valentine's Massacre with Austin vs McMahon in the cage. For such a gimmick match, it's up there as one of the best I can remember. Then it went right into the Austin/Rock matches and held momentum. Early on, I loved the whole Hart Foundation angle in mid-1997(since that was when Austin was really coming into his own) and the Mick Foley-getting-thrown-off-the-cage still floors me every time I've seen it. I didn't like HHH once he started main eventing in the attitude era because of the Stephanie angle (I did like HHH vs McMahon though). HHH is like Austin...He's a lot more exciting in the title hunt than as the actual champ. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Ha, I loved it when HHH revealed himself to Austin. IT WAS ME AUSTIN! IT WAS MEEEEEEE!

Well it's gonna be a 3 hour special Monday Night Raw. Who "killed" Vince McMahon? It was WCW!! Heh, just kidding. Should be interesting to see what they come up with. Oh and concerning Vengeance...

It's official...I'm not only going to watch ECW for the first time since they released Sabu, I'm looking forward to it more than I am RAW.
Woo-hoo! Go Nitro! May you have a long and healthy reign and many (more) awesome matches. On the other hand, boy I'm glad I didn't order this. Cena retains (fuck). Batista is counted out (dammit). Nothing else mattered (*sigh*). There's nowhere I can't reach.

I'd rather see Kennedy beat Cena for the WWE title (which I can see happening) than the four they had in the match

The funniest thing throughout the show was how no one mentioned JBL being the longest reigning champion in 10 years. Infact he had to make an announcer mention him. Michael Cole ran down a list of past champions and JBL was like "I will forgive you for not mentioning my name". XD I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |

Wow, that's just...
No words. Not even a joke about him taking his life for getting drafted to ECW. RIP Chris...You were the man. You have more wrestling ability deceased than most of the current roster does alive. Very sad. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Man...I can't believe that at all. Chris Benoit. Chris freakin Benoit.
![]() We'll miss you Benoit, you were one of the greatest. FELIPE NO |
Well, according to PWInsider, Benoit called WWE before Vengeance telling them he wouldn't make it back as his family was sick and coughing up blood. Perhaps he succumbed to whatever they were dealing with.
Truly sad that he's gone. I'm in shock about the whole thing honestly. Seems like the Radicalz are dropping like flies >_<. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? If there is evil in this world, it lies within the hearts of mankind.

I would like to think that this will put a premature and rightful kibosh on the stupid "Death of Vince McMahon" angle. Whereas Sherri Martel was long distanced from the company, Chris Benoit is not. Pursuing the angle now would be remarkably tasteless, even by WWE standards.
Benoit was a hell of an athlete. This is horrible. How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
Well, as one bright moment in all of this tragedy, at least it calls for the end of the ridiculous Vince angle. He kicked off Raw by stating what had happened, and he did so very gracefully. You could see him holding back the tears, it was almost touching.
