Just thought I'd ask your guys your opinions. This is one of my alts. She's a cast force, think I did a good job making her look like a robot wizard?

EDIT:

This torrent has seeders!!

www.torrent.to - presents: Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition Of The Illuminus

Seems like people just dont seed after they get it though... Number of Seeders has decreased.

Regarding your cast, I think she looks like one...

Important note about color variation clothes

You must head to various planet clothes shops to see and buy all the new colors of old and new clothes. Make sure you see them all before buying them. My fiance checked and confirmed.

While I don't like the pink too much, that cast setup is pretty good for a "wizardry" look.

I'm LOVING the tenora twin claws, and single claws. Though they seem to grind pretty badly ><. I got one to +6 and then stupidly pressed my luck and failed, and it kept failing after that. I got it to 4/4 -.-.

Failed a 10* madoog synth with 76% success, and that was my first major synth >_>.

Hi guys,

Coming in with a bit of random questioning. I recently quit FFXI (took too bloody much time to do something insignificant), and was wondering if PSU might be a better fit. Main problems I had with FFXI were that:

* Takes too long to get anywhere, or do anything (too party-heavy);
* Outdated-ass graphics;
* Boooooooooooooring craft system;
* Really, really slow gameplay.

Now, I played PSU a long time back on the PC, and it was damn fun, but the whole economy seemed shot, and I didn't really understand any "Crafts" the game has. Basically, I'm a bit casual in my play; not on 24/7 like FFXI or WOW require, but on enough that I want it to be fun, and to be able to just go out and mess around without needing to wait an hour for a party.

How good/bad is PSU/AoI in this regard? I'm playing on 360, if that matters any (different servers, apparently?)... and perhaps most importantly, if a party is required, how vacant/populated do servers tend to be?

Thanks for any help.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Well, PSU won't help in regards to graphics since like FFXI, its roots are on PS2. Everything else though is addressed due to the expansion. The economy is kind of whacky right now, mostly because there is now an excellent search feature that allows for sorting, unlike the crap we had before. But you're able to get weaponry of any rank for dirt cheap now, if that says anything. Meseta drops and the like are considerably better now.

In a nutshell, PSU is now the game it should have been at launch. I love it to death.

Edit: Also, the 360 servers are fairly populated. The expansion brought back a lot of people, and added a fair number of newcomers. There certainly isn't a lack of people to play with. The population now is five to six times the population of the PC/PS2 version, it just really blew up over the last two days.

How ya doing, buddy?

Thanks for the response, Parn.
As to graphics, I don't know why, but PSU's seem far more appealing. Colour just seems a lot richer, and the game didn't seem to have such horrific lag issues as FFXI does. Case in point, if you have every effect on and a decent video card, you get crazy mad stutter.

Though, just out of curiosity, is Xbox Live Gold required for PSU, or does Silver work?

How ya doing, buddy?

You only need a silver account.

I am a retired FFXI vet(4 years) and I can tell you, PSU destroys FFXI in every aspect. Even community wise as you can actually make REAL friends, and not people who'll drop/forget about you once they get in an HNMLS >_>. This was the game I was waiting on to get me away from that horrible MMO.

Duminas, I agree with you about the graphics thing. In FFXI, I always found the scenery rather boring. You should also be happy to know that in PSU there are no areas where the music is simply wind noise.

Another thing PSU has over FFXI is in the community department as Winter Storm just said. You don't have to make a cookie cutter character that the community considers acceptable. I never got over how stupid it was that it was considered unacceptable for Summoners to actually use their summons instead of pretending to be a white mage. I understand that from a statistic standpoint it's more effective, but you midaswell just not be a summoner then, it takes all the fun out of it.

Though there is the eternal argument of "if you can use techs, heal me!"

Other than that, there really isn't too much of that issue here, occasionally a photon art would drive people crazy cause people spam it, and its either too powerful (New Splicer PA in JP was nerfed recently due to that) or sends enemies flying when people are trying to aim their techs (Tornado dance, don't spam it unless its a big monster or a boss).

And like in real life, there are scammers and jerks, but I have met plenty of good, honest, generous and nice people here on the PC/PS2 servers. Dunno about 360 though, some of them have that E peen attitude from the forum posts at PSO World, not counting the good people from GFF though.

Torrent is only at 55% and only going at 15 KB per sec. ARGH!

Also, there is an error in the PC version. Unlike the folks on AOI PS2, we cannot hear the new voices on PC. My fiance can make his character say stuff like "Can you handle this?!" on the PS2 version, but apparently not PC for other users online. I've contacted the people at Sega on the official site so they can patch it, and others should probably do something similar.

And how did you go about contacting them..specifically? I tried that numerous times, but thier "Knowledge base" doesn't seem to be for reporting bugs.

The Slicer PA isn't as bad as it was made out. I tried AT out... I like it, but at the same time I don't. It allows for a lot of style customizing which is a plus. But, FF is where it's at.

Our population is steadily growing.. 4.5 stars...

Just out of curiosity, need I pay for the Guardians Licence through XBL, or can I do so off Sega's site (or even with MS Points)? After all the negativity I've heard about MS screwing up with credit cards over Live, I'm not really the most trusting.

Though, on a plus I got the game earlier today, and it seems to play a lot smoother on Xbox than it did on a good PC, oddly enough.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

This is on Xbox live (which it appears PlaySega doesn't support), so I'm a bit stymied. Off to send an email to them and hope I get a response! >_>

Ah well, should sleep anyways.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Man i've been having a sound issue with AOI lately.
Let's say Im in block 1 of a map, when i go to block 2, the music turns into pure static. Or lets say Im in Tenora Works (warped from room) and exit into the main district, the music turns into static.

Its pissing me off that I can't enjoy the music without hearing static every 5 minutes -_-

The AotI opening is... interesting. Really odd song.

Ahem, anyways. For those of you on the 360, how in the crap do I change between local and party chat when using the virtual keyboard? Still have yet to figure that one out.

Loving the 14 MP from Scarred Earth C, though.

Are you sure you got the right new AoI folder? It should be under screenshots. The folder My Documents/Sega/ is where it should be, NOT the my program folder.

That explains it all now. I was told it was going to be in a folder under My Documents/My Games

Didn't even think to look for a Sega folder in the actual My Documents folder.
