Nonetheless it's still tricky as hell to beat it with everyone. Everyone and their mother knows that some characters have better advantages over these bosses (Lucario [Dair], Lucas [Dair], Toon Link [Dair]...), while others have NOTHING going for them.

This is gonna suck. T_T

I'm just saving the hammers to break them for certain events (like clear boss mode on intense) Cause I don't think i could do my Kirby hammer attack...especially against Tabbu

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

On the bright side, that's easier than all-star mode and classic (at least for me).
Hahaha, what.

Tabuu's moves are all pretty much instant kill on Intense, especially that cheap wave thing. I can see saying this if, y'know, he went first or something and if you knock him out you can proceed with the rest of the far easier bosses, but nothing is more aggrivating then getting to him on a hard difficulty and then having him spam the crap out of some instant kill BS.

Monkey King: If you're focusing on music, just play a bunch of stages 10-15 times each (about 10 or so stages have these requirements for additional tracks), that gets most of those, and stages are mostly unlocked with characters, certain events, and playing with certain characters a few times.

Right now I'm working on the music stuff. I've only got about 10 blues left on my challenge board, and about 2/3s of it is complete. The major boring shit like the homerun, timed target tests, and 100 man BS with every character is probably what I'm going to end up wasting my hammers on. At this point, it's just pure tedium.

I was speaking idiomatically.

The home run ones aren't that bad. You could probably just settle for hitting it at 0% and then walking away.

The highest you need to reach is about 37,500 feet, I believe.

I did all of the Target test ones, and the 100 Man Brawl is gonna be a bitch.

Sorry to be the bad guy, but you can't break clear boss mode on intense with a hammer. You actually have to clear it in order to earn what's behind that glass. Believe me, I tried and I wasn't too thrilled that I couldn't break it.

You can complete some of the requirements, like "complete x mode with all characters," on Easy mode which is a huge timesaver. In fact, most of the challenges are either not too difficult or pretty easily exploitable. It's just that damn boss challenge on intense that you can't break with a hammer. AGH.
Oh, you can dodge Tabuu's 1-hit KO attacks pretty easily once you learn how to. Just watch the video I posted.

Timesaver it might be, but it's still pretty tedious to do. (I know because I did. )

I think I still have a little less than 20 challenges to go, with no blues left, so I can see them all. The only really hard ones left are the obvious Boss Battles on Intense and the 15-minute brawl. I got the 100-man brawl stuff done with Ganondorf already, thankfully.

And before any of you say 'Just use DK on the 15-minute and spam his down-B', not only is that awfully boring, but that failed for me in Melee miserably, what with everything imaginable that explodes on touch deciding to drop out of thin air on me while I'm doing that move. I learned my lesson.

If it helps, the time taken to complete All Star Mode with all characters is cut in half when working cooperatively with someone (Well, either that or just leave the second player idle and complete the mode on Easy.). The game gives final smash trophies for both of the characters that complete All Star, not just the first player.

I have yet to try that method out on the other cooperative modes since I happen to notice it after I completed 100 Man Melee and Home Run Contest with all characters.

Won't work for homerun. The coop for that mode just records a single best record with stock icons to show what characters you used to get it.

100 Man Brawl becomes more tedious than difficult if you just whore out your character of choice's major smash moves. I got through it with Game and Watch, abusing his Up+B then down air attacks to create a vertical line of death, sprinkled liberally with ground down attacks. My brother then showed me up by beating the 3:30 challenge by solely abusing Marth's upward attacks.

Also, I did not know you could co-op All Star Mode. That should make it dramatically easier, both in having a partner and preventing the game from going at you three-on-one. ...Except I think I already hammered the challenge for Extreme. Oh well.

Hate to tell you, but there are NO continues on the Boss Battles.
I wasn't including Boss Battles in "Beat X Mode on Xtreme Difficulty".

I don't see how Intense All-Star is difficult. Just use a character you're good with and abuse continues. By the time you're done with The Subspace Emissary, you should have more than enough coins to do so. It's nowhere as aggravating as Melee's "beat Adventure Mode on Hard with no continues".

Quote:
preventing the game from going at you three-on-one.
It's different this time around. All-Star groups up characters by franchise, and you only fight two, at the most, at once.

Oh, and if you're trying to get trophies of the bosses, prepare to rip your hair out when it comes to both Ridleys and Duon.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Gah, my friend and I tried tried coop home run contest for fun today. Twin blasters with fox and twin Yoshi dAir didn't work as well as a combination of the two, which only netted us 2600ish meters at best. I'm curious as to if anyone has been able to get insane scores close to the world record like in that Ganondorf and Ice Climbers video!

Just checked out that Ganon/Ice Climbers video. Holy crap. Me and my friend only managed to max out around 3000 with the twin Yoshi method.

Edit: And just to see the support of the other idea, I wanna start the Screenshot of the Week Contest pretty soon.

You have until next Thursday to submit a screenshot with some witty caption to me. On Friday, I'll post up a thread with the screenshots, and we vote until Sunday. The submitter of the screenshot won't be revealed until that Sunday.

Sound good?

Well I assumed it wouldn't count if I used continues but oh hey might give it a try later.

Oh and the only tough bosses in the boss fights has been Rayquaza for certain characters, and Tabuu, the others have been pretty easy. Is there a trophy for beating the boss battles with every character or difficulty? It might be too much of a pain to try and do that with every character. All-Star mode is... well its certainly beatable but drains me at the end, and I'm like "No more for now".

With Ganondorf it's pretty much any of his moves, though I did find myself abusing the up-smash through a platform. I barely managed to make the 3' 30" with him. In one instance I lost because I fell to my death just before the VERY LAST one did.

That...was maddening.

How ya doing, buddy?
