I wouldn't put so much stock into the ratings.
Whether it be from Tivoing or downloading for free on Lost's official website, there are plenty of oppurtunities for people to see Lost at a later date. My father records it on his computer, and three other people I know Tivo it. If I had to guess, I would say many people do this. I was close to recording the show last night because I was so tired. People waiting for the DVDs should not be thrown out as a real reason, either. 12 million is still pretty damn good. Granted, it's not 20 million like it use to get, but since there are so many possible explanations the fact that it even got 12 million is amazing to me. I was speaking idiomatically. |
I've never watched an episode of Lost during it's regular run on TV. I always tape it because of my night classes on wednesday night. And i know of at least 12 other people who have to do that in that class.

You know, I really loved Lost for the first two seasons. But then Heroes came along and so far it has really trounced Lost. Of course, that show is in its first season too, so let's compare apples to apples. Still, at this point I see Lost olympic diving into the same empty pool as Twin Peaks did. I mean, they build up the others to be the ultimate bad-asses that are all-powerful and mysterious, but in the latest episode they are trying to make them more like regular people? (The one Sawyer called "Zeke," for example, has completely ZERO air of mystery about him, and just seems sappy & happy-go-lucky compared to his former self. LAME!)

I'm always amazing that people still laud 24 as the greatest show in earth, when Lost gets this sort of treatment. I see little discrepency between the levels of ridiculous in the two shows. 24 is more "realistic" though, but only to the extent that everything falls within the realm of possibility. If you ask me, 24 has taken alot of the same turns as Lost, but more with character issues. I'm so waiting forward to Phillip Bauer's explanation for all this.

Well, that was a "feel good" episode. I dunno, usually I would have hated that kind of episode, but I think the show kind of needed a jolt of hope.
And I think the producers might be trying to tell us something ha ha. Okay, I'll admit. I almost shed a tear when Hurley popped the clutch and got the VW going. And then The Halls of Shambala came on. CRY. Jam it back in, in the dark.

Yeah, but next week's episode preview looks HELLA good.
Spoiler:
Holy shit, that looks like the best episode of the season right now! Most amazing jew boots |
Also, it looks like they actually DO find Jack? From what I can tell? Here I was, worried that Kate would lead them back to the other island, and Jack would be lost forever. How many of us KNEW that Danielle would be in the woods when Kate went looking for her tonight? I mean jesus, I saw that one a mile away. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
They re-tread old ground tonight, except for the fun downhill VW bus ride. Weeeeeeee!
Other than that, we just got to see a bit more of the "new" people being lame (they didn't even offer to help Hurley out so they served no purpose at all), Jin & Sun problems which we've seen before, Sawyer & Kate problems which we've seen before, and Hurley lottery flashbacks which we've seen before. Sad. I thought "Jericho" was more compelling tonight... How ya doing, buddy?

Tonight's episode was kind of nice. For me, it was a welcome change of pace since I've been tired of all the Jack/Kate/Sawyer drama for a while now.
I thought it was a little bit of a cheat to copy Hurley's lottery backstory and re-use it, but it's been a while since Lost has made me smile. I was speaking idiomatically. |

Have hope. I have hope the series will get better. But I liked the idea that Charlie and Hurley face the little demons that were making them mope about and get them all PARANOID. They both face death in the VW (albeit in a VERY lame manner), but survive it. So maybe they're not exactly cursed after all. FELIPE NO |
It's nice to see Lost take a break from the constant "Hey look what's happening now, isn't that impressive?" attitude. This episode was relaxing, and something to enjoy. As much as i can't wait to get back to all the plot twists, and events they usually throw at us, i think it's good to see that the writers are cooling off on that sort of thing.

OOOOOUCH!!! and EWWWWWWW!!! Next weeks episode look great, but i bet whatever Locke has done we wont find out till the following week after ![]() Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Great episode. First time I've been impressed with this show since the first two back in the fall. It felt like a good ol' season 1 episode. No stupid Others bullshit, just good ol' fashioned character development with our favorite bunch of islanders.
Although, god damn, I am so sick of the 2 new survivors they keep trying to push down our throat. Everything they say and do is just SO FORCED. Nothing is natural about them one bit. I was hoping for another Hurley meteor to come and vaporize them. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |

LOVED the last episode! Such a feel good episode after the dreary, serious episodes of this season and most of season 2. Consider my faith restored.

Good episode. I like episodes with animals
![]() But, anyone noticed the goof when Locke beat the chess computer? The computer was still able to move his bishop to save the king. FELIPE NO |
![]() Actually it could of gone either way, but Locke has the upper hand Locke loses CPU moves bishop back to block Rook, Locke gets excited and moves Queen to take Bishop, CHECK, CPU uses Knight (E7) (to take Queen. Locke take Knight with Rook, CHECK, CPU moves King to B7 (where its bishop was before it block Rook) Locke Wins CPU moves Bishop back to block Rook, Locke takes Bishop with Rook, CHECK, CPU takes Rook with Knight (E7), Locke takes Knight with Queen, CHECK MATE. More or less a good episode. I liked how they just got it out of the way that patchy was an other, and not have him lead them on for many episodes only to use him for yet another plot twist. I just wanna know how exactly Sayid knew he wasn't with Dharma, and how he figured Ms. Klugh was there.
Also, how much you wanna bet Klugh was only there so she could die, and people would stop asking about her. So, in the flashbacks, did Sayid really torture that woman? or did he just say that to get out of there? I seem to remember seeing her in a previous episode, possibly in Sayid's flashbacks when he was with the Republican Guard, or just after. Hopefully we'll get some answers when Locke, Sayid and Kate storm the "bunker". I'm glad that they gave them a map to follow, implying that they planning on actually going somewhere with the plot, rather than just pussy footing around getting to the meat and potatoes behind the show. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
It makes sense that since Syhid is a skilled soldier he would be able to see through disguises and other tactics the enemy may use like hiding others out of view.
LOL just watched the promo for next week! Poor patchy, PWNED! How ya doing, buddy? |
And enough with the spoilers for the next episode promos, goddammit... This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Locke used to be cool, with his wheelchair story of hope and all. Now the show just makes him look like a button pushing retard. Seriously, why would he leave "Big Boss" all alone in a room just so he can finish up a chess game? V_V
